My Reading Goals 2023

article image placeholderUploaded by @SanitybyNeha
So each time we read a book, we all have different takeaways. I want to discuss with like minded people the different takeaways from the book. And that is my reading goal. For this year. I will also read you more books because I read a wide variety of books and I also run a book club. So we have the book of the month and we all discuss, come and discuss together

And it's great to know that you have your own book club where you discuss a book every month with like minded readers. I would love to know if you have, in fact, picked out a book for this month. If so, please do share it here in the community. I'm sure there will be other readers here on Swell who would perhaps want to check the book out and maybe be a part of the discussions as well

Umbrigar It is about the honor telling, and it is a story that is based in India, but it is written by someone who is coming from outside America and it deals with all the stuff there. So it's an interesting read. And it is also triggering actually, it's out of my comfort genre because it is, like, part fiction and a part based on true events. So, yes, we all will be discussing that. And the name of my book club is The Bookish Tribe

Hi, Neha. This sounds like a really interesting goal, not setting a goal in terms of number of books that you're going to read this year, but in terms of the genre or the sort of experience that you want to have while reading those books. And it makes a lot of sense, really. And yes, I would absolutely love to listen to your reviews of the books, your book recommendations, because I'm always looking for those

So, yes, being in a book club also helps because everybody is reading different types of books and knowing their varied interests. It actually motivates you. So, yes, thank you. And we will be discussing if there is any. I will definitely let you know if I come across interesting books or genres. Will definitely let you know. Thanks for connecting. Aishani. Aishani. Sorry

And yeah, also, what you've said about writers just including Floury words to make their writing sound good, I think that's something I have, like, a personal dislike towards as well, because I think a work of art or any sort of writing any book should actually, instead of using flowery words. Basically, what I'm trying to say is you don't need to use flattery words to reach your reader's heart to touch your reader's heart rate
