More Is Sometimes Less

article image placeholderUploaded by @sacred_health
It's one thing to have services or things or supplements that truly do treat or work with your specific needs or finally find the root cause of an issue that you've been suffering with. But it's quite another thing to become like the sharper image of wellness spaces with every single new fancy gadget in town and to encourage people all the different ways in which they can add more into their lives. And in all reality, it ends up being more complications

Sometimes… Wellness means less, not more. #uselessthings

Thank you so much for saying this. It has really affirmed a lot of what I've been feeling about wellness spaces and about what I see online of what I should be buying. And I have really had to stop myself and think, do I need this skincare product? Do I need this supplement?

And that's what our wellness base is about. Yes, we have different awesome things, but our goal is never for you to need us for that long. We want to see you get well through whatever way makes you the happiest and then move on and go be well. We don't want you to be a long term patient. That's never going to be my goal. So I just needed to kind of get that one off my chest

Hey, Sabbath. I want to reiterate what Chelsea said. It's great to just be so clear about sort of the irony involved in the care industry, the wellness industry. I just did a post a few weeks ago about the exploitation of the menace pause industry. Right now, it's a billion dollar industry. A lot of snake oils being sold in that space

And I was just in a conversation with my dad today who doesn't live in the same state as me and there's kind of this wellness center in our old town that pretty much has all the fancy new gadgets all the time, like just crazy things. And I'm sure that they work and I'm sure that there's a science to them and even if not, there's definitely a placebo effect
