Wrestlers protest - A question for parents in India today

article image placeholderUploaded by @RSFoundation20
So I don't want to go into why nothing is happening on this and so on. My question here is more on the social front, and my question to all listeners is that if today you are parents of young children, would you encourage your daughters and perhaps even your sons to join any sports as of today? Would you send your daughter for training? Or would you want your daughter to look at sports as a career?

Hello, Dr. Wandana. First off, kudos to you for sharing this topic and talking about it. Now, I have been following the topic vaguely, so I am aware of the predicament, but I'm not aware of the specifics. I think it is a matter of national shame, like you said, that we put women on a pedestal but we don't walk the talk

And as a parent myself, I can only imagine the fear, the anxiety, the concern that's on the minds of these wrestlers parents for their gifted daughters as they battle the powers that be. And as a parent, naturally one would assume that true talent can take your child places, open doors and give them recognition and credibility. Something that in a situation like this is expected to make those in power take an issue that you raise seriously
