Justice of the Guru is not "just" enough

article image placeholderGurmeet Ram Rahim
Now, from a very personal point of view, I would say that for any human may be a guru or a normal person, the grisly crimes mentioned above are overwhelming enough to not allow them to live. Sentencing this dirty, filthy man prison for life and charging just 31 lakh rupees can never make up for the grief and shame suffered by the victim's family. I think justice is being served here, but it's not just enough in this case, or should I say it's morally unfair?

Delayed justice is as good as no justice! He still has devotees!??

It is true. Sohini that not a lot of us have actually heard about this case because of the Ariane Khan's case, possibly taking over the media. So I had a few thoughts about this from reading an article and also from listening to this. Well, first of all, why does it take our system 20 years? The murder happened in 2002 and he is now held accountable in 2021. How is that fair?

agreed!

But the money that he was supposed to be definitely has to be more than, like, 34 lapse. That's not even the price of an apartment. That's like, half the price of an apartment right now in, like, a city. That's so not fair. And I think the victims families deserve a lot more than 34 lacks. Of course, like, money would never make up for whatever they've been through

😶

Wait, what? He are still followers. Like even after all of this, there are people who still worship him. Well, that's shocking enough. Well, that's India's Justice system for you all, even though know he is imprisoned for life. I bet he's going to get all the special treatments and facilities somehow, even in prison because that's what happens in the country. I can't even imagine how it must be for the victims

great points :) @Shaz

You made some absolutely great points, and it hadn't even crossed my mind that the fact that he is a spiritual leader would, you know, like, make it worse that someone who people hold a storage, a high moral Compass, and someone who people act actually look up to and follow and listen to and someone that influentially would do all of this and then get away with it. Like the murder thing for so many years. And I didn't know he still had directed it is

People grow in 20 years. Things change in your 20 years is a lot of time and we need to make sure that our court moves fast. Decisions move fast and for rape and murder. If you call it death imprisonment, you would just call it lifetime imprisonment. It just doesn't serve it. And the others who are accused are just like paying 1.5 lakhs or two lakhs, which is just something that a normal it guy is also making

My question here is, when are we going to stop tolerating this sort of criminal behavior, especially by Godmen, who are revered in a country that has got a very rich spiritual heritage. It's really sad that PS citizens continue to put these kind of Godmen on a pedestal and continue to tolerate their antics and finally rely on the judiciary to tell us that they are criminals. This has to stop. And it is really sad that the earnest spiritual seeker gets lost in this process is totally confused
