#AskSwell | What’s a belief you wish you didn’t have?

article image placeholderUploaded by @rocio
I want to get in on this. Askswell fun. So I want to throw this question out there because it's something that I've been thinking about a lot. Mulling over. What's a belief that you wish you didn't have. I'm thinking something that you think holds you back or something that you think if I didn't believe this, maybe I would be happier or I would be I don't know. Um yeah. What do you think?

And on the flip side of something a little more funny, perhaps, is the whole Mandela Effect thing. I think I've now have dove too deep into it, where I'm starting to see how people are suggesting we have alternate timelines and all these different factors. And the reason I say I wish I didn't believe in that, because I do. I write time travel, say, fiction, and I love reading time travel fiction

Like, I'm feeling great. So I'm trying to not be afraid of the next three decades. And if I really wash away those belief systems, that life's painful. As you get older, I think I'm going to be happier even in this moment. So I'm going to try to just write that stuff down and then burn it. Thanks

But that idea that I don't have enough, that I could start a podcast, but I don't have money for a mic, I can attend this event, but, oh, do I have a babysitter? Do I have enough to buy some shoes? So it's like that thought that's always there and I wish it wasn't there. And I work really hard to push it to the side when it does show up

I wish I didn't have the limiting belief(s)... Swell on -->

So I've always been thought or conditioned to limit myself to the tangible certificates or the tangible recognitions that institutions and societies have awarded me. But now I realize that that's not necessarily true. I may have just a bachelor's degree, I don't have a master's degree, but that does not limit me to be lower than someone who has a master's or a PhD. I can be equally good, if not better, or I could be, like, in a class of my own

I won't make a difference!...

Hello. It is the thought that I don't make a difference. I know it is realistic in regards to the large influence I would wish to have. It is this ambition is desire for recognition, for love an all encompassing wish. I am very well aware that I should love myself better and give myself recognition. This would prevent me from being saddened by the thought that I will only make a small difference in this world

@BKFOREMAN69 What does "nice" really mean?

Hello, Brian. Thank you. From Switzerland. I just wanted to react. And it's funny, I've never had that idea at all. I think nice things you're mentioning, in my opinion, or the the way I understand them, they are flawless things, aren't they? So if you have a scratch on anything, okay, the lack is gone, so the veneer is gone. But does it make the object less nice? It's more related to life

@DBPardes "Pushing life" isn't the way I like to live...

On the contrary, you will magnify some things which are not necessarily which are not necessary to be magnified. That's my take. And I think this kind of a pushy positive attitude is so American to me, I'm afraid to say, I don't want to offend you, but sometimes it gets on my nerves, because why not just be awake and lively? But doesn't mean you're pushing anything to be successful and to manage. And yes, life will take care of itself

@geo_rhymes Class thinking...

Hello. Nidhin Zaki from Switzerland. I grew up in a village where there are no classes and even the mayor, who would just greet casually. There was this kind of, let's say friendliness joby reality towards anybody around. So when I once saw that a Russian lady greeted shop assistant with kind of a disdain and neglect or superiority arrogance, I was quite shocked. I'm not used to that. We are somewhat friendly and intent to everybody here, and I think we expect a lot to everybody

I particularly love the last statement that you made. Incidentally, we are all superior or inferior to someone in comparison. So there's nothing to fret about. Thank you for that

Ty Kim. It's nice to hear your voice. So nice. And thank you for this reminder. And you qualified something for me. Very beautiful. And I'm with you. There's a lot of little bit of friction between my thoughts all the time, which keeps me seeking. But in this moment, I'm very happy to hear your voice. Thank you
