Chat GPT & Philosophy

article image placeholderUploaded by @riverhunter87
Chat GBT is going to affect every aspect of our life, and it's going to allow people who think they don't know what they're talking about to learn and to process philosophies in a way that we can't even fathom yet. I don't think we have. We can't even fathom the idea of what AI is going to be in the future

And who would be the right kind of person to lead that said country, describe that person, named that person, right? I went all the way down to the provinces of this country and what each one of them brings to the overall existence. And I got so far that I just was like, I get into all of this in like, 20 minutes, if that. And that was including dinner and a smoke break

Not simply in the processes, the mental processes, the way that we ask questions, the way that we process and reason through information and come to some sort of understandings the mysteries of the world, of the universe, the wonder and curiosity. How much of this is going to shift based on now having this kind of technology? But not only that, and that's the individual, right?

And I don't know that people necessarily see or even want to see, because they think I'm saying AI is evil, yeah, AI is bad. I'm not saying that. I'm saying we need to be aware of not only the shiny benefits of the amazingness, of how far this may take us, but that change is inevitable. And this is how it's coming

And like you said, this is a huge thing that none of us are prepared for. I don't think any of us can grasp, like you said, massive cataclysmic changes that are coming. And I do agree also that we give up a piece of our humanity when we do these things. We rely on AI or technology to no longer have to do things. Totally agree with all that

The algorithm is doing that for them. They don't have to canvass and post their flyers of birther and vaccine denial everywhere. The algorithm does that for them. And so once my point, once those two start to converge, once that algorithmic cycle and AI just converge, we're done. I don't think it's going to be in our lifetime. I hope it's not going to be in my niece and nephew's lifetime, but I don't see it not happening

So you have to take the steps to acknowledge that it exists and then make changes so that the thing you've created does not incorporate this. But that would mean acknowledging that it's not just the rosy cool innovation here, but that there are these other things bleeding through. And I think that that is also true when it comes to algorithms. We can say how amazing they are and what great things they do and so on
