Facing Racism - What have you endured? Please share!

And I had friends that openly disagreed with interracial dating, told me their thoughts on it quite frequently. Even though I'm a very open and vocal person, I'm going to give you a response. I'm never just going to let it be, especially when I think you're wrong. So I've been very vocal on my side of things

Part 1

And listen, it will take multiple posts and yeah, it would, it would be a lot. My brother is married to a white woman and it took him a while to bring her around the family because he was concerned with what would family say, how will she be received? I want my family to be comfortable. I want my girlfriend to be comfortable. He eventually, after about maybe two years of dating her, finally did bring her around for a Thanksgiving dinner. And we met her

Part 2 - be true to you

I'll give an example. We went to DC. About two years ago, and I was graduating from my doctoral program, and they currently live in Indiana. And so they flew into DC. I think they drove into DC. And we drove into DC. Coming it from where we are coming from a southeastern state. And so after graduation, we decide that we're in DC. We're going to walk around. We're going to do the whole touristy thing

That's a pretty deep thing to come from a funny story. But it's a white thing is a thing for sure. There's got to be a white person because white people do the weirdest s***, apparently. But I just wanted to say thank you for sharing and thank you for hopping in this and I hope this conversation grows just because I am interested in the story

So I did want to ask you one thing, though. You had mentioned being black in a country club community, and that if you had that to do over again, you would not be in that community. And I'm guessing it's because of the racism that you've experienced there. I wanted to see if you could know this is an interview talk, and I'm so sorry, but I'm so interested in your story

And I have to wait. I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait and I wait. And then finally I have to flag down two or three different servers. And they're not busy, mind you. They're not busy because people will say, oh, maybe they're busy, not busy. I'll even get my waiter's attention. And I'll get from him or her, I'll be right with you in a minute

Part 2 examples

Next morning, I'm walking the dog that we used to have walked past the neighbor. She walks, as I said, past me as well, when she turns around and goes, oh, hey. I said, good morning. She goes, oh, we noticed because a lot of them walk their dogs in groups. We noticed. And I know who she normally walks with. They weren't with her at that time that there was a very nice vehicle in your yard
