When emails 'write' themselves!

I wonder if it's just me, or if there are others here who find Gmail, autocomplete and smart reply features. Little annoying. I know these features have been been around for a while now, and I think I still remember the day I first noticed that my emails had started composing themselves. I would type out a few words, and the next few would pop up even before I could frame them inside of my head

I agree with you 100%. I absolutely loathe that feature, but the reality is that any feature that caters to human laziness generally tends to do well, so I'm sure it's not going away anywhere, and this will be a very popular feature. I hope at least this is a feature that should not be allowed for students in any of the schools. They have to learn how to think for themselves and type for themselves, and this will get in the way

So the code completers those shortcuts that software engineers rely on to save them time and writing long strings of identical pieces of code with what triggered the idea in the first place. I found that to be very interesting. So Google thought that a similar technology could reduce the time spent writing emails by its users and thereby increase overall productivity
