In Love At Ease - Author Yogi Trivedi on the Life & Legacy of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

Hinduism is not the simplest religion to explain to people. Neither is India the place where it originated, the wealthiest nation in the world when it comes to assessing success through economics. But one can without doubt say that the real wealth of India is the eclectic existence of spiritual ideas and religious leaders. India has been home to some of the greatest spiritual beings who have inspired, educated and progressed the development of society for the greater good

It is relatable and applicable to everyday lives for people, people who live in the cities and towns and the streets and roads that you and I traverse and you and I live in. They're not some sort of foreign land. Talk about some mountainside, monastery somewhere. And I think that is the beauty of Pramukh Swami's life. That is the beauty of Indian spirituality, and that is what I try to bring out in this book

Thank you so much for sharing that. You also mentioned in one of your interviews that anyone could have written this book about the life and love of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Could you perhaps elaborate on this thought?

And I wonder how one of a million people would have done it differently. And I think that's also the ultimate hope of this book to to get people to rethink their relationship with their spiritual master and perhaps articulate it in a way that inspires many more

Thank you so much for that. I'm sure the next question is something you would have been asked several times before. How do you manage to juggle between your extremely diverse roles of a journalist, a scholar of religion, a teacher and abhakta? And among these, which is the role that you identify best with?

That's a fascinating question. So at first glance, it seems as if all of these are very different roles. Right. And I'm not trying to speak like a deconstructionist or a poststructuralist, but in many ways they're so similar right. In order to be a better Bakhta. Yes. I was born in Swamiji's presence and in the sense that I grew up and was around him

Thank you so much for that. I think I will leave you with one final question. It is difficult to explain the bhava one has for one's guru. The Guru Shishya bond is the most sublime of human relationships. The Guru directing, guiding, helping and the Chela striving learning and being joyously submissive. On that plane, no places are known. The body of the chela may be in any land and on that plane no arguments are needed as the spiritual vision strengthens the Shishiya sees

@Ramya

And I was at peace with that, where I realized that the guru now has to turn his attention elsewhere, or that if I don't mature on the spiritual path and realize that my guru is with me at all times, then it is my law. So to answer your question, what is that relationship? In the book, I speak about the guru being a father, the guru being a friend, the guru being a colleague, a guru being a mother

And I think it is this sort of balance between the two that helps you feel the guru's humanly, divine hand on your back and that helps you get through life in a sort of grounded, balanced kind of way. Once again, thank you for taking the time and I hope that I hear from you once you've gone through ah, more of the book and that your listeners have gone through it in Love, at Ease, Everyday Spirituality with Pramukh Swami. Thank you again

Thank you so much for this illuminating conversation, Yogi. This has been a deeply introspective exchange for me and I really appreciate the profound insights in your responses and it's been absolutely wonderful talking about the impact and legacy of Pramakswami Maharaja's life and work. So for our listeners, I'm going to be sharing the Amazon link to the book that I would highly recommend for everyone to check out. Thank you so much, Yogi, and more power to your words
