Pain vs suffering

article image placeholderUploaded by @rachelbmore
I condemn myself to reliving that pain over and over whenever something closed triggers it. And that is suffering a seemingly inescapable cycle. Now there is no life without pain or suffering. We know that. But I never really thought about the distinction in quite the way that Audrey Lord describes it. That suffering is actually a cycle loop where you're reliving and reliving and reliving the pain, and that pain is really useful or can be useful if you can fuel that into something else

I have to deal with this new pain I'm in, and that invites us to sort of grow and to get help and to talk. And that's what's so interesting about the invitation of pain. It contrasts joy. And that's always great to know. Wow. I really felt horrible yesterday today. I feel so much better. So there's that contrast thing. Also, it's interesting to really look at the suffering loop that you talk about for sure
