The poetry writing process runs a mind of its own

article image placeholderMany wonders hide within the pages of journals
So, for example, in that mirrored perspective poem, which is my first swell, I took this metaphor deception and counterfeit happiness are the Polaroid iborne and kind of expanded that type of feeling throughout the poem and kind of like, build on that. So that's how I initially start drafting my poem. And then while I'm writing my poem, I try to look for nice pounding rhymes

This is how I disorganizedly organize my thoughts into words that somehow turn into great poems. Music: "Your dog loves you" Instrumental vr. By Colde

I was trying to think of some other poetry that I know, which I don't really know too much. But I recently started watching that show about Emily Dickinson and reading her poems. And her poems are very short. They're all really short and talk about death a lot, but in a very neutral way because death is a part of life, and she talks about it in that way

And you mentioned I don't know if this is the right way to write poetry, but in my opinion, there's no right way. Everybody has their own process. Everybody writes in their own style and using their own methods. Like even with novels, some people outline first or do dialogue first before actually first drafting. Other people just first draft. And some people go back and edit every day. And some people just wait until they're done their first draft to edit
