Sensory Issues and Tangents

It tends to be one of the primary reasons I do get overstimulated and sensory overload in a way, and it leads to my meltdowns and anxiety and all kinds of things. So I'm hoping that works. I got a lot of stuff. I'm actually pretty excited. I've been waiting for a while. I am finally going to get some actual stemming toys. I got a variety pack so that I can kind of try it out and see what I like

Hey, Rose, I really related to what you said about the buzzing thing, because I don't have that myself. But there are degrees of that where you have sensory reactions to things that some people don't. I just invited somebody who really helped us understand something called synesthesia

Macaroni and cheese is my favorite possible meal. Favorite sandwich. Peanut butter and jelly don't make things too complicated for my taste buds. Yeah. So I like the idea of this year I kind of got into Fidget toys. They didn't really help with my Fidgeting really long term because I Fidget

@QuirkyAutist Happy stimming!

It's an air purifier and a fan trying to get rid of the smells coming from other units in the building from where I live. So yes, they are a sense of a gift and a curse. But hearing you describe your experience with sounds was as if you're describing my own. In fact, it is. Well, not long ago, talking about all the inside noises versus the outside, and then you pile them on top and it sends me faster to that state of fight or flight

It's not very pretty to look at, but man, I really enjoy playing with it. Also, I'm going to put a link in my post here. I recently bought this. I don't normally do this, but I saw it on social media somewhere and it's this pen. It's refillable, which is great, but it smooths until you switch the switch and then it creates this texture on the outside

Thanks again @seekingplumb ! Still getting the hang of it lol

But to realize that all this time it was because it was pure sensory h*** for my body and my mind and I just wasn't listening. And now that I know that I'm autistic, I'm like, okay, just at that moment, my alarm decided to go off fluorescence tight cubicle. I could hear everything in the whole room that I was in with everybody else. I could practically feel the germs in the air

@ZLisbon thank you for your response!

I definitely am always overstimulated by loud music from outside. It's hard to really pay attention to doing anything else. I love Pardes. I love seeing them. I don't like being in them, otherwise I'd be in that kind of Pardes. But you know how that goes to too many people, too many sounds, too many smells, bright lights. It's going to really bug me because I definitely had something to say and I completely forgot
