I forgot about this story until I just saw the headline that Jesse Smollett was found guilty of. Why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why do fake hate crimes happen? Has just been going a mile a minute, just trying to understand how someone could do this in our community. And it is personal as well for me, because there actually was someone in the queer community of my hometown who it was discovered that he had also faked a hate crime
Hey, Bowie, thanks for letting me know about this. I had not seen the news that he was found guilty. I'm not surprised when you ask, you know, what would make somebody do that. I'm sure that there are a bunch of different for an answers and reasons that that person gives. I'm sure he gave his own reasons. And we'll find out what those reasons were. I personally think that the only people that do this are insane

Yet at the same time, it's a good reminder that at the core of it, we are all human and definitely my idea of liberation or equality is not expecting all queer gay. However, you identify people to be perfect. And Jesse certainly is not perfect

Hey Kendy, I'm only just seeing this, but I was so happy to come across it because I've been thinking about this a lot since I first posted it a month ago. And I completely agree with you. I think just moments like this shine such a bright light on how much these oppressive systems and forces really can make someone lose it
