Thanksgiving, Do You Celebrate It..???

article image placeholderUploaded by @ProphetTalk365
So my thing is, what is Thanksgiving mean to you? What do you do for Thanksgiving? I mean, we all know traditionally, we buy turkey, we eat, we enjoy ourselves as a family. We are thankful that we can come together as a family. That's the meaning for a majority of people. But do you celebrate it or don't you celebrate it? My reasoning can be self explanatory for a lot. Some may, some may not

Do You Celebrate Thanksgiving As The Traditional Holiday Or Do You Celebrate The Family Gathering..???

So okay, so hello, my name is Shayy Butter. To answer your question on do I celebrate Thanksgiving? I would say yes. Do I celebrate it for the actual meaning? No. No, not at all. Because I feel like basically I feel like we were fed lies for so many years in school about what really went down. And as I got older and realized what the f*** actually happened excuse my language, but yeah, what actually happened?

Hey, it's JL. Happy belated Thanksgiving. I'd say it out of tradition, and in my past, I celebrate it Thanksgiving as the holiday. I mean, how it was presented to me growing up was oh, well, growing up, it was the traditional additional story about how the Pilgrims and the Indians came peacefully together and they dined

Hey, Kurt. Great question. For me, it is just another day. It is a chance to celebrate or gather with friends and family and have some food. And the only tradition we have is the food. We don't honor the Pilgrims or the native peoples. At some point when my kids were little, I suggested that we honor the actual indigenous peoples present at the Plymouth colonies first Thanksgiving by making an oyster and corn stew

How is that really, truly helping us? I don't know. By being woke. It's like, okay, but yeah, I celebrate pretty much all holidays, right? I do. I just do. Halloween. People don't like that. But we're talking about Thanksgiving. It's really about being thankful, right? It truly, truly is. Although I don't eat meat. I haven't eaten meat in the 20 years. I just like the fellowship

Hey, great question. Great conversation. Luchianna, I really heard you. There's a buoyancy in your reflection on your Sunday nights being a continuity of your gratitude. And I think that what saddens me about Thanksgiving sometimes it's the only time people gather to kind of reflect about the derivative of this holiday, which is about gathering and being thankful and having community. Right. I think so many holidays have different layers of interpretation, historical and otherwise

But I just chose to remove myself from the lie. I mean, Christmas. You really want to know the truth? It's not pretty. And Easter is pretty sick. But hey, happy holidays
