What's Going On With The Weather?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Professor42
It's not too noticeable, but if you're paying attention, you're outside, you're doing stuff, you're like, hey, this is not really typical of November. We've been getting weather here around, I'd say 60, almost 70, not quite when typically in November, it's right around maybe 40 to 50 degrees and 40 to 50 degrees is average, pretty typical. But we've been noticing that the weather here is just a tad bit warmer

Things are a little unusual. I live in Western Canada and we have seen snow every month of the year. Personally, I have not seen it in July and August. This year we had an especially long autumn which was unusual beautiful temperatures and because it was longer we got to to see all of these beautiful colors of the leaves where normally it happens so quickly that we don't get to see much of that. So that was really nice but when the first snowfall hit

Hey, professor. 42, longtime no talk. Hope you're doing well. Your ears must have been burning, because I was I was talking about this with my wife this morning. Where I live right now, we're getting kind of an unprecedented amount of rain, at least to my knowledge. It's been sort of unprecedented amount

How are things over in the homeland? And surprisingly enough, she hasn't really mentioned the weather. Of course, obviously, Canada is very large and of course weather is not going to be exactly the same everywhere. But I do find it interesting because a lot of what you're saying in regards to the snowfall is happening here in other states, and it's just so odd that it is happening and there's so many things that are happening internationally

But, yeah, it's happened before. This year, thankfully, wasn't as bad as previous years with the flooding. But I do know that in general, the weather has been all over the place. Oddly enough, I was thinking to myself, this summer was nowhere near as hot as what it was last summer. Like, this summer was manageable. Like, a hot day here was 80, 85, whereas, like the previous summer, every day was 90, 95

It's funny to me, this brings home a lot of the lessons I learned as a kid in science class about how delicately and fragile ecosystems are, that if you just change one little detail and it might be minutely in the grand scheme of things, how massive that impact can be

Yeah, the weather has been all over the map for me and I split time between Dallas and Minneapolis and it has been just a weird year. Dallas was especially hot this summer to the point where getting into a pool felt like just getting into a warm bath. It just wasn't refreshing at all. And then it got very some really serious storms came rolling through in September, knocking down a bunch of trees and now it's pretty dry

So it's like the sharp up and down, up and down, up and down. Now, a sweet spot for me would be how the temperature is today and yesterday that mid to low seventy s. And then you have as a high and then a low of mid fifty s to very low 60s would be ideal for me. I don't mind it being cool. It's not like I work outside
