Spouses or significant others crashing a podcast interview!

I can tell you a pet peeve of mine when listening to podcasts is when the podcast is interviewing a guest and the guest has people uninvited crashing into the conversation. Usually it's a spouse or significant other or a family member that wants to get on the conversation and they allow it. And often other podcaster doesn't want to interrupt and doesn't want to be rude to the guest and allows it to happen

So when there's a guy that sounds like he's talking on an old, tiny little microphone that used to come with your PC, it was kind of like a stick, you know what I mean? And you still hear some of that stuff today. And it's really strange to me there's a guy here in America that used to be on The Howard Stern Show, and he is trying to have a podcast, and every single time he has technical difficulties

I'm kind of just rambling on, but yeah, I fully agree. And Phil, also, thank you for yours. I can't think of anything more annoying than somebody just kind of jumping in during a podcast. I have a seven year old son and me now, if I'm recording from home, me now, he's not allowed in. And for the most part, he's pretty good for things like swell. If he's about, then it's just one of those things

On recording quality, "yes, and" and common courtesy with guests.

They didn't have whatever I would say, the last name of a person and this dude across the table would go, no, that's not his name. That's not his name. I'm like, Dude. Okay, what's his name? It's not that. Okay, well, shut up. Common sense. You are abandoning the flow of this thing and offering nothing in its place. You're just putting a brick wall in front of the podcast

And the funny thing is, so many of them have spent years ridiculing and making fun of podcasters, saying that podcasters are wannabes. They're wannabes, especially Howard Stern immediately comes to mind. He had a huge rant once about how podcasters were losers. And if you really want to prove you can do this, get a job in radio and get in a ratings book and all that kind of stuff and his at home shows. The ones I've heard

Poor Howard. 😆

Poor Howard. There was a time when I listened to him all the time. You know, I was a teenager once and a young adult once. I'm not exactly an old guy now, but it was long enough ago that I enjoyed his humor more than I care about it. Now. I'm not surprised that he has sour grapes about the podcast thing because he was really kind of circling the very foundations of podcasting itself

I think touching on what is already been mentioned is it's the fact that these so called professionals, they've got incredible amounts of money at their disposal, and because they're now forced to do it from home, I think they're just lazy and they expect that people will just go, well, they haven't got the studio anymore at the moment. Other haven't got the studio at the moment. So everyone is just expected to just go, well
