I do this everyday: thoughts on nat’l coming out day
And it'd be nice to not have a day, but it's just nice to just be able to just be because we have days because people aren't able to just exist and live. So I guess that's my commentary on National Coming Out day. It's not exactly celebratory, I suppose, but that's just one person on the Spectrum's lived experience of these days and these things. And I don't know if you have any thoughts I'd be interested to know

It's everyone's responsibility not to talk about things all the time and be aware, but to just respect each other and queer people you and me included, shouldn't have to be sharing our stories and sharing sometimes what can be really personal things in order to reach out to people and say, hey, let's just treat everyone with respect like the human being that they are. But that's where we're at the moment. I do apologize. I think I just ran it at you

Santia, I appreciate you as a human being and a fellow person of Swell, and I can appreciate and I definitely can relate to you in regards to days like, let's say, for instance, Black History Month, it's always one of those. Well, it's not a day. It's a month, right

And so days like this is good for them to see that everyone matters. People matter. It doesn't matter about anything else. But everyone has a place in this world. And so a day like that for me is a chance for me to show my kids that these people matter, too, that they are in this world. They have a right to be heard, and they have a right to have fair and equal treatment under anything under any law, under any God

You can be a queer person and you can go out and you can be more of yourself than you probably normally are because you tend to temper yourself for spaces. And the thing about the freedom you speak is that there is more freedom. But our freedom is restricted or limited to the point that it doesn't make people who are heterosexual or binary on the binary living the binary uncomfortable. I guess that's kind of my main point. That's just my whole life

So it could be anybody. And that always happens. That is always the responsibility of the oppressed individual to teach the oppressive sir. And it's exhausting. So, yeah, we agree. And thank you so much for jumping on this. Swell. Hope you got some rest and talk to you soon. Bye

Thank you, my brother. Dewan, I appreciate you so much. I really do. And thank you for adding to this swell in this conversation and just even jumping in, because all these things can be very touchy or scary, you know, especially they're not our context. And I always appreciate everything you have to say. You have value, you really do. And to your point, it's like again, people back to the humanity
