Compassion vs. Empathy

article image placeholderUploaded by @PKBriggs
And empathy is just a feeling like, oh, shoot, I feel bad for them. I empathize, but it doesn't do anything, you know what I mean? And compassion is actually implies an action or some kind of action. So I just thought it was really interesting. And for me personally, I'm like, oh, I'm going to try to do more leading with compassion and sit the empathy down

Compassion, that means walking with passionately calm means to walk with in togetherness. Empathy is that part that's within us. And sometimes we don't even have a choice whether we feel it or not. I think you have empaths those who feel the world around them, and that's very strong. And sometimes empaths need to get away because they're always feeling. And that's not because of a lack of compassion, but it's just an overflow of our sensory inputs

Thank for that breakdown! @rafaelr3

Hey, Rafael, thank you so much for responding to this. Swell. And yeah, I didn't you know, it's interesting. I'm glad that you like parse that out because I didn't I was going to do this outside with too loud. Didn't think about that. I didn't actually consider what you said. The last part, I think probably is the key to it. Right. You can't be one without the other or the other without one

And the action and the intention of being compassionate really informs how we make choices and how we spend our time and what we want to put out there. Sometimes when we talk about this, the philosophy of it is kind of burdened with the limitations of our own language. But truly as humans we're just feeling all the time and we're trying to figure out where to put that stuff
