Mental Monday’s: It’s your call.

And then the person gets on their knees and we all pray for them. And if it's the culture of the Christian culture of laying hands, then all the ministerial people, the other ordained pastors and whatnot lay hands on the person. And you, as a participant in the audience myself, you put your hand forward, all of us pouring our prayers and our hope and our inspiration and our belief in this human who's decided to accept their call. And then they stand up and they rise differently

Do you have a calling? @PKBriggs

The Stoics, of course, believe that if you want to increase your well being, you make that list all the stuff that's not under your control, which is lots of things. Then you just kind of let it go. Focus on the things that are under your control, your attitude, the things that you're thinking, as you say, your decisions that you make, basically, most of the things that are interior to you are under your control

Great questions! @soulcruzer

And my answer is partly fueled by my faith, which is in the Christian context. And I believe God. I use the word God. Higher power has all specifically created us for a purpose. And I think in some Eastern cultures they might call it a drama like there's a duty. There's something that you are supposed to do, your soul or whatever the case may be. So I do believe in that

And truly appreciate what you shared re: stoicism @soulcruzer

And ultimately, there's one guy over everything. Whatever you choose to call or greater power, higher power, alien, whatever you believe, it all comes from that it all comes from the source that's greater than us all. So that was a really long way to say I appreciate Stoicism as well. And I really like what you said. I'm going to look that up because that's very interesting. Only if we could just let the things go that we can't control

Then I think you can get a sense that you're not in the direction you want to go when you start going on the path in the flow that you meant to go, that there's less resistance there, or you're more at peace or have more harmony within yourself, even if you always have your ups and downs, happy, sad and emotional range is still there
