You gotta be you: say no too compare and despair

article image placeholderUploaded by @realbriggster
It's like our friend that we might admire and I might be super successful. We have to be us. So that's just what I was thinking about tonight, and I wanted to put out there for anybody else who secretly or quietly is looking at other people's timelines and wishing for a life or reality or a self other than the self that you are. Don't do that. You're exactly who you're supposed to be, and you're exactly where you're supposed to be

And I had this thought about how each one stood apart so beautifully and how they just delighted me with the intricacies of the design and how bees were playing around. But listening to your swell this morning made me think about how horrible it would be if these wildflowers were kind of compare and despair Briggs, where they just kept on looking at other petals and other stems and other sort of shoots and leaves and thinking, oh, that's cooler

One great beautiful garden 🪴 @DBPardes

And maybe we can all just look at ourselves as a part of this great garden in that we need to be us and not like the flower next to us. So I love that analogy. Thank you. Bye

So I think that in a way it's almost like natural for us to do it natural in the sense that we're encouraged to do it, and in the sense that even as children, we look to other women that are older than us to help us figure out how to become a woman and what that possibly looks like, and to imagine our future as a mature woman, even when we're younger. So some of it, I think, is natural

This is some wonderful advice I just got back into school. This is my second week back or technically my third week of complete school. And I think one thing that a lot of us have been been doing is comparing. And it's not a great habit. And I hope in the future I can slowly just stop doing that. And I know when I was younger I wouldn't compare as much as I do now

@AmaraV16 Do you, we need you as you ✨✨

And then what I love what Deborah said is about like, we're all in this garden. Right? And Amara has to be Amara sontaia, P-K-S-B-P-K. And we all make up the garden. So if PK tried to turn into aura, then where would be the PK in the garden? And to me, that was like a really beautiful way to just think about it. And so when you find that little voice in your mind beginning to do the comparison

@kimestryarts Great perspective💫

So we're kind of bombarded by this idea of the singular ideas of perfection, and even though we might be aware it's in everything. So thank you. That was like a really good reminder. It's encouraged to want to be like, the same or compare yourself to get to that point. So I love that. And then also to mention the positive like, yeah, we could definitely get encouraged from friends, people that we trust and we respect and we compare ourselves to them

Compare one student's abilities with another student's ability and not consider everything else about that student or about that person and how we all have different ways of expressing ourselves. Some people are great at making posts and putting up really good posts, and people admire them. Sometimes I put a post and people are like, Whoa, wow. And I'm just like, it wasn't all that

I actually was kind of good, but I was passing the ball when I could have made the shot just to be accepted in the group of people that had, I guess, low selfesteem and really lacked the ability to be great at certain things. And I did it with a lot of things in my life. But now I'm at a place I'm 46 years old. I don't have that in me to be limiting in my personality. And so I'm judged as this a**

Hell yeah what you said! @Enfinit

Hello, Infinite. I've missed your voice, and I'm so sorry. It took me a while to get back to get back to this and respond to you. I'm just sitting here looking through, making sure I've responded to everybody across all conversations. And of course, I hear some of this infinite wisdom. I love that infinite wisdom. And you know what stands out in my mind? What you said, which is so true
