The Belmont Stakes Live Swellcast! Hosted by Phil Spade

I have a few on the card here today that I think are just automatic and on paper, at least I really loved his law in the Belmont Stakes. I think it's really his race to have, and I just don't see him losing, but there are a few others on the card that I'll get into later in the day. And Happy Belmont day

TV Coverage: FS1 starting at 11:30am ET and NBC starting at 33pm ET

Race 1 and the start of the pick 5: 8,9,10,11

So 8910 eleven for me, I do think the early races here after this first race might get a little chalky. I do think mischievous Alex and Echo Town and the next one, I'm going to have those two in there and then Indian Pride and Mrs. Danvers in the third race

Hey, Phil, this is Shredders Multimedia. First time, long time on the swell. Really like your breakdown of the first race, folks here at Shredders Multimedia. Big fan of Soups Chicken tortilla, New England Clam chowder, white chicken Chili. So we're going to go with horse number ten Super Energizer S-O-U-P-E-R for all the soup fans out there looking forward to a good day, erasing, I'll talk to you later

Race 2: # 3 Mischievious Alex

And that's Mischievous Alex, the three horse, and that's who I think I'll be going with. I really think that that horse likes to win and has done it at this distance. And last time I went a mile and I'd like to see that as well. He wanted a mile, so he's kind of backing up. What I generally stay away from are the sprinters that are going six furlongs and trying to stretch out to seven furlongs

Well, it looks like it might be a good start. There got hot at the beginning, but then you take the soup off the stove. It got colder than Kurt Cousins in Primetime. We're warming up some CRISPR and poppers here at Shredders Multimedia Lounge and going to follow you with mischievous Alex. We're thinking about going down to Echo Town, but you make a good case. So we're ready for number three and the big money. Thanks. Thanks

#lonespeed. Race 3: Indian Pride

The horse ran a mile on the 16th and the Slop down at Oakland and just ran terrible. Just absolutely terrible. So I just didn't think he was going to do it, but hats off to him. We got a few more races and we can get there. So race three. Moving on. It's kind of a tricky race. I think the six and the seven Indian Pride and Mrs. Danvers really kind of stand over this crowd here

Race 4: More chalk.. #1 Decorated Invader

He was a two year old at the time. He came back in March at Gulfstream Park and won a race. Looked really good doing that just an explosive run finishing kick here and trained by Chris Clement, who is arguably one of the top turf trainers in the United States. He actually was just inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame this year. So I really like him in this race. My sentimental pick here would be the number two Venezuelan hug that's trained by Danny Gargan. Danny

Hi, Phil. You're bringing back lots of memories. One of my best friends, a graduate of Annapolis, spent two years of his life going from racetrack to racetrack publishing. Following follow Florida Bob. He published a sheet and I guess he sold them for $0.50 or $0.75 or whatever he sold them for at the race tracks. Also, you brought back a great memory of my Uncle Jake. My Uncle Jake never drove, never owned a car

Race 5: Crapshoot! I'm lost on this race. Maybe the angry man!

And this is a race that I'll root for, the higher odds horse to come home, and hopefully that will pay more on my victory and multi wager tickets. But yeah, tough race here. I'm just hoping maybe the edge goes to the two, five, six or seven, but won't be surprised if any one of these horses hit the wire first

Race 6: #4 Antoinette but watch out for # 2 Sweet Melania

I want to see her in the paddock and see if she's grown or not see how she looks. But I do favor Antoinette. And then Chad Brown has one in for the same owners that won in the first race, same connections, another one that hasn't raised since the Reader's Cup Juvenile. And that's $190,000 purchase more than ready three years ago, actually at the November sale. So she was bought as a weanling, and I think she'll be tough, too

#pacemakestherace Sweet Melania with the win!

Either give the win away and let that horse get to an easy lead or challenge that horse. Hope that something lucky break goes in your favor, and you can actually clip that horse for the day. So I thought Johnny Velasquez rode a good race on Antoinette, but there was just no beating Sweet Melania today. She was just much the best in the field. The layoff didn't hurt her at all. And Pace makes the race she wanted on the front end

Race 7: 4 8 12 14

That's a pretty well bred horse. She fetched 150,000 at the sales. She is also she broke her maiden once and then she tried a stakes race, finished. It wasn't a bad race, wasn't a great race, but George Weaver brings her out and she's another one trying easier company this time and could definitely win this. The other horse I'm thinking about, including here is the 14 ancient Brown David Donkey

NBC doesn't show race 7! The 12 won.

Well, Race Seven just ran and NBC coverage decided not to show it. For some reason, I am completely at a loss. I don't understand it. So I mean, the good news is NBC started coverage, so if you don't get FS one, you can now now start watching the races on NBC. Hopefully they show Race Eight. I am sure they will. I don't know why you would start coverage and then just show one race after starting so early

Because NBC are idiots, they'd rather talk to themselves. They were like playing highlights of s*** that happened like ten years ago. Instead of showing Race Seven dumbasses. I guess nobody on the telecast bet the race since they didn't want to obviously watch it

Race 8: # 2 Lucrezia and #4 Casual to beat the Evil Empire! #nogamine

That was to a horse named Swiss Skydiver, who is arguably one of the better three year olds going right now three year old Phillies and probably the favorite to win the Kentucky Oaks right now, the other horse that I'm going to be using is the four Casual, and that's Steve asthmason. Steve Asmussen brings another horse in here. We talked about them earlier in the Woody Stevens in the second race, and Ricardo Santana rides this horse again

Redlark finished second in the Wilshire Grade. 320k in purses. Never mind black type against older Phillies and Mayor's. She was the owner any three year old in the field, so we'll get her back, get it down to Del Mar. Running the grade to San Clemente at a mile and an 8th against three year old Phillies. Only

Race 9: look for the 2 5 and 7 to be closing fast late!

Okay. Moving on. I want to move on to the next races as quickly as possible. The Japur, the 9th race, is a turf sprint, and I actually own piece of a turf sprinter who's run against a lot of these in here today. So these are the races that I tend to follow the closest, and I'll just take you through each one of them here and take a deep dive into this race starting in post position. Congrats Tom! Watch Red Lark in the future!

Hey, I totally missed Red Lark's race. I've been so focused on Belmont. I forgot all about that race over at Santa Anita. Congratulations, Tom. That's a fantastic finish. Red Lark finishing second. And for those of you who don't know Tom, A. Tom is the owner of Speech, who I referenced earlier here. So that's great news, Tom. I'm really pumped about that. And she should be very tough next time out at Del Mar

The mare beats the boys! #girlpower!

So kind of disappointed with stubborns and white flag just didn't show. Hidden scroll went out very hard. Very well. Just a little bit too fast with pure sensation there, but great result. And then we're off to the Belmont next

The Belmont is now 20 minutes away! Make your picks! #tizthelaw

I really like Pneumatics first race, and that was really his first two races. A lot of horses in those races have come back to win and won next time out. So he is one of the better three year olds, I think I think he's just moving a little bit too fast into some of these stakes races. And by the fall, he may be the better horse in here

My picks

Hi, Phil. My picks. Three V eight in that order. And watching on television. Having been to Belmont, it's really weird to see the empty seats

Tiz the Law makes history! Thanks for a fun day!

It didn't bother him at all today. And when Manny Franco was coming into the stretch, if you noticed, he kind of peaked between his legs at the back of the field before he made his move 99 times out of 100. When you see a jockey do that, that means they're about to take it to the next level. They're going to put it into another gear
