Covid and Pools: What is the risk?

As on one side, you have people that are thinking very pragmatically and have kind of done the research. And what they're saying is if somebody sues us, if somebody comes into our pool area, sues us, even though they would have a very difficult time proving that they actually contracted COVID at our pool, insurance wouldn't cover that defense, and we would be on the hook to pay for the defense of that suit. And it could be completely frivolous. It could be with no merit whatsoever

Notes from an HOA meeting on whether to open or close the community pool for the summer. (In Texas)

Townhouse pool in Illinois

So they've taken the pool and they're divided into five swimming lanes. And you must make a reservation to reserve a swimming Lane if you are so inclined to do so. And they're only allowed five people in the pool at one time. There are 285 buildings in our townhouse and people are scratching their heads and saying, okay, so why don't you just close it if you're only hoping it to five people, people are very confused

Can you lay out by the pool as long as you socially distance, or are they saying five people in the pool, which includes the pool area at all times? I'm just curious to know how they address that because I think at least in our complex people want to use the pool area more than the actual pool. I'd say

Hey Phil, the pool area is also limited to five. As a matter of fact, if my wife and I went, we would have to sit 6ft apart. So not only is the pool limited to five people, the pool area is limited to five people and we still have to social distance. So I think our Association is totally confused. And again, I blame it onto the state because they've tried to get an understanding from the state and they really can't get one
