Background on Ukraine: Redline Podcast

article image placeholder35 - Ukraine and the War in the East
I'm posting a link to an episode of the Redline podcast that highlights Ukraine and although this episode was done last year, it gives a great base of knowledge about Ukraine and a little bit of the history. But more importantly, why Ukraine reign is so important in the Russian, European and NATO realm today. This podcast is hosted by Michael Hilliard who does an absolutely amazing job on anything in the geopolitical realm. Michael has been on swell for quite a while highlighting his podcast

@MichaelHilliard 🙏

Hey, Phil, thanks so much for posting this. I was gonna actually look forward. I think Michael's presence here, especially, is so welcome and needed. And you're absolutely right. We have such an imbalance of understanding of what's going on over there, and it's put through a filter of of bias, and it's so important to have other perspectives that can give us a new window into what's going on. So I will listen to it again

Because, like pretty much every political analyst that I have seen has agreed in that the Ukrainian military does not have what it takes to defend itself from the Russian military. And I think we all know that Biden has also made it pretty clear that the US is not going to engage in any actual warfare where everything is going to be done through sanctions and at a bureaucratic level

And I I think it's just a really sad and big learning experience for us as Americans and those of us all across the world to support each other, no matter what country we live in

So the options on the table, what we assumed would be what happened first is effectively a repeat of the Georgia war. We're in Georgia effectively had a President, Sakushi, who wanted to join NATO. Russia walked in, stuck to the disputed zones of Pardes in south to settle and capitulated the Georgians, and the Georgians refused to join NATO and Sakashville a short while after that. This is looking like a much more full scale invasion. Now. Putin is getting older

@MichaelHilliard the domino effect

Can you explain the domino that you see what would happen if let's say we send 5000 ground troops to Ukraine or let's say we don't do that. Let's say we have air support that comes across and that 40 miles of tanks that are building up around the capital. We take out some of those tanks that's aggression. Absolutely. Can you explain what the domino would be so that we understand that effect? Thank you so much for being here

The news I read today, they really stretched and I think the reason the converts stopped is they're trying to get the converts in the south also to come in and then drive the city up. I'm assuming that's the name, but how long before can they go on? Should that be it's? Okay. Yeah

And it's very difficult to get what I feel is an honest opinion of how things are actually going right now. And if you pay attention to anything on social media, you'll see the same picture representing success on both sides. And it'll show captured soldiers. And one caption will be, these are Ukrainian soldiers and the other one will be, these are Russian soldiers. So very difficult to understand exactly what's going on from what I can tell

And it's so funny because when I and actually, I need to try to get him on as a guest, I need to try to find a way to get in touch with him because he's just so on point. And thank you so much for bringing this back up. And thank you for your reply. And my swell. Oh, my goodness. It's too much, really. And I have to go to work and deal with this every day

Michael, thank you so much for putting it into perspective and, you know, breaking it down for us. Yeah, this is really bad, I guess. I feel so bad for my YouTube Craney and friends. I really do, because they really love their country, and they are there and they're fighting, and they're sending me videos. And the video they're sending is absolutely horrific. The bodies, the old people have been killed just trying to get out of the city

If we launch a first strike, we can probably get the majority of them and leave the Russians with only 10% of their missiles to go. And that way we can save millions of American lives. And that's a question that then the Russians are having as well because they know what the majority of the American nuclear weapons are as well

Hey Soda. I'm really sorry. I actually can't hear what you're saying. For some reason you're recording come out very well. If you do record your question again more than happy to answer it but sorry I can't answer this one

We're watching the Russians move to a very heavy artillery doctrine. More and more people are dying and it's quite bad. Don Bass front effectively is not doing particularly well for the Russians. But again, that's a militia heavy one. And then there's Karasan, which is the very Southern front of Crimea, which is doing incredibly well. And they are mostly moving quite quickly. So they've already taken the important ship lines Mcleayov

You know, it's a big subject when I have to do too swells, because five minutes is not enough. So there has been a lot of talk about the Trump Biden angle when it comes to Crane. First of all, I would just stress a that's not the biggest issue we're facing at the moment. And it is very us for the US to make this domestic issue, even though this is a much more international issue

And I feel with Ukrainian friends. I have a lot of Ukrainian friends. One of my staff members is over there covering the conflict. But as well, I have Russian friends as well. And watching friends of mine who are living in voters and law school in Vermont and all these sort of places who Jared against the war and watching them go, well, I'm about to suffer horrifying sanctions for a war that I don't want and it's really bad
