Saudi Arabia: Aramco posts giant profit. Is more sportswashing ahead?

article image placeholderSaudi oil giant Aramco posts record $161 billion profit for 2022
I'm not the only one that says it, but sportswashing has been taking place by Saudis and other Arab countries here, for it's really been increasing, especially with the Saudi Arabia creating the Liv Golf League, peeling away some of the players from the PGA. The Saudi Cup is the world's richest horse race. They just had a jake. Paul. They hosted a Jake Paul fight that was boxing match

I can tell you that I don't think that their intentions are necessarily benevolent by any means. I think this is just bad in general for sport as a whole. The social implications are, I think, pretty obvious, but also somewhat vague because Saudi companies have their hand in so many different markets and businesses and countries. It's just a very, very complex thing that even I don't fully understand

The sport washing that's going on with Saudi Arabia is a lot bigger than just Newcastle United and live golf. The jake Paul fight. MBS, which is how I refer to the Crown Prince, sits as one of the boards for the federal international automobile, the FIA that oversees Formula One. And there are several races in the Middle East

And just two weeks ago, they had the Saudi Cup there, which is the richest horse race in the world, and a lot of Americans went over there, including jockeys, including female jockeys. And, you know, it was clear to me, it's my opinion, but it was clear to me that some of the posts that the female jockeys were posting on Twitter were part of being some sort of paid ambassador, like Leno Messi. It didn't go over well with the horse racing crowd

You really want to go back and go back to the 2008 Olympics with Beijing when, you know, they held the Olympics in Beijing and there were all these little things that were being covered up and all this propaganda? That was even on NBC Sports showing like Chinese families crowded around the TV, all proud of their nation and how their life is not as bad
