So tonight, one of my favorite charities that I've contributed money to almost all my life is having their annual event. Now it's being held over Zoom, and I thought I would get on here and just kind of highlight them because as it is their annual event. But I also wanted to start a swell on charities and maybe highlight some of the charities that do a great job that you may not know about. And charities that are somewhat smaller that you have personally seen do an amazing job
It was organized by Patrick Rothfuss, which is a fantasy author. And every year they hold this event where Sci-Fi and fantasy authors will donate, whether it's merchandise or signed books, special edition books, et cetera. And all of this stuff is collected. And then for every $10 that you donate, you get one entry into the Raffle to win something. But all of the money is donated then to Heifer International. So it sort of makes it fun

And that was good enough for me to and a lot of these were my personal friends, and that was really good enough for me to trust that this organization was having a really positive impact for children underprivileged children who were abused in many ways or who are mainly denied opportunities, girls who are forced not into education and things like that

They really empower local heroes to do work on the ground so they don't come in and assume what people need. They find local people for local issues and they empower them with support, money, resources. I love what they do. And Scott Pfeiffer is a true hero himself here in Los Angeles. So I'm going to tag him as well. And thanks for this kind of conversation. I think we need to have more of these in a time when we all feel sort of depleted
