REVIEWS: Movie Review of Uncut Gems (2019)

I was also intrigued by Adam Sandler's performance that some people said was worthy of an Oscar. And I always like it when an actor or an actress takes a step out of what they're usually doing and steps into another role. So all the reviews aside, I said, I'm going to watch it, and I don't watch a lot of movies, but this one I said, you know what? I'd love to see it

My review of the movie Uncut Gems. I must be missing something.

And then the other thing is, I loved the Hastings in this movie because one there were not very many recognizable. You didn't have a lot of Hollywood stars in this movie. And I love how I don't want to say grotesque but interesting and fascinating. The characters were just in their looks and that they were the offbeat actors and actresses and characters that I could just like I was just fascinated by that, and I felt like that really added to the story

It's an excellent take, Dan. Thank you for that. And I think you've really nailed one of the reasons that I may have just not given it a chance. And that's because of the gambling aspect of it. And your sailing example of why you just can't get past that sometimes is just really perfect, because I find myself in other movies if you know the subject really well and they don't do it 100% right

Uncut gem in the literal sense! #microreview

I'll start off by saying that my experience of watching Uncut Gems was like being at the very edge of a cliff and just standing there for the entire runtime of the movie, literally waiting to be pushed off. I agree you both made such wonderful points there, and Adam Sandler is a revelation in the movie. A real revelation. So a lot of people, including myself, have grown up on the goofy comedy he's always done

Hey, I thought I'd chime in here with my own review of Uncut Gems. In fact, I reviewed it back at the end of May 26 on my blog, Paul Levinson. Net at I called the review drama at the speed of light. I realized years ago when I saw Milton Berle in a serious dramatic role. I think it was in the Oscar that was the name of a movie in the 1960s that contrary to what you might think, comedians can make excellent dramatic actors

I feel it's so palpable throughout the entire movie. I wanted to recommend another Spade Brother film that ended up convincing Adam Sandler to take this part on. And that film is a good time with Robert Pattinson, and I believe it's on Netflix. Now. I don't want to say too much about the movie, but it does have a similar sense of chaos that rings throughout the entire times. So if you did not like Uncut gems, it might not be for you

Now there's a big spoiler ahead so you can keep listening at your own peril if you haven't seen the movie. But at the end our hero or antihero gets caught just like that, and it's no consolation to see that his brother makes out pretty okay. In the end, I'm not a fan of unhappy endings, especially when they happen to characters who deserve much better

But at any rate, I felt like it was pretty much a ten out of ten performance from Robert Pattinson, and I'm excited to see that he'll be taking on some more serious roles in the future. I think that Good Time and Uncut gems, more than anything, just show the Sapphire Brothers intelligence when it comes to screenwriting. They really look at it from every possible angle and take you on this journey that feels like you are really there the entire time

I didn't hate the film, but I didn't think it was anything spectacular either. I think Sandler's performance was incredibly overrated. He kind of felt in a lot of ways to me, like a Sandler character, just more slimy, more real world than most of the characters he plays. But I didn't really see any departure from anything that he's done. As far as the tone of the character he was putting on a voice, and it just felt like things he'd done before
