Summer Heat and Health

So yesterday, my heart rate was elevated as I was just walking and it was more than it usually is or higher than it usually is. And I found myself when I came back and after the walk, I was drained, just completely drained. And I ended up going to bed very early last night. I just felt very tired and it does make sense. I mean, the hotter weather, especially when it's first coming into season

How do you maintain energy in the heat?

An athletes perspective - duration & hydration

But I can tell you that we wouldn't start out with the same level of workout in that environment. You would want to start with a much smaller duration and then slowly work up to what you would normally do. So if you normally do an hour walk and then it's suddenly much hotter and much more humid, you wouldn't necessarily want to do an hour walk in that environment to acclimate

Is it my imagination? #exercise #workingout

Let me put it this way. I feel like I've done like I do an hour walk. Now I try to do an hour walk and I feel like I'm getting more exercise than when I did my stroll at the end of the day. I guess my question is, does your body work more in extreme heat? And is it somehow bizarrely better for you because you're getting a more intense workout?

#zonework

And what I've done is I've gone into Lifetime Fitness offers this where you put, like, a mask on and they measure what your zones are. And you have five zones and zones one and two are really the fat burning zones. And they say you should try to work out in those zones if your goal is to lose weight. Those are the zones that are the fat burning zones. And then anything above that, you're working anaerobically
