The U.S. Open Swell

This is really an opening for some of the younger kids to kind of prove themselves once and for all that they belong on this major stage. A lot of them like Zverev and Dominic Thiem Raw, Nick Titsipas. These guys are always talked about as the next generation. But when it comes to these five set matches seem to not do as well as they do in the three set matches. So this is a real opportunity for a lot of these to make their big name

Tennis is back with its second major of 2020! Swell here for all US Open talk.

Day 1 matches to watch: Zverev vs Anderson

The first one that I had circled and I said, what is going on here is actually going on right now, and it's one set of piece that is the fourth seat. Alexander Zveriff drew the hard hitting former runner up in the US Open. Kevin Anderson Kevin Anderson finished second in the US Open not three years ago. He also finished second in Wimbledon not too long ago either

Osaka recap and day 2 preview!

Well, I've heard of teeth grinders and nail biters, but never teeth biters. But from here on out, if we have a close match, it will be known as a teeth biter for you, Robin. Very funny. So just to recap yesterday wanted to watch Osaka play because she was injured and withdrew from the finals in the Cincinnati Masters. And I was curious as to whether that was just a precautionary thing or whether she really is injured

Any other fans of women's tennis?

Of course, she won our hearts last year and going so far, and the crowd really picked her up at times last year. And I'm wondering without the crowd, there was that a factor in her not playing as well as she did last year. I don't know, but that could be a factor, but I'm so looking forward to this. I was hoping that swell could draw out some tennis fans, especially women's tennis fans

Match of the Day: Garcia Pliskova on now!

In fact, it is for nothing now this could be a real fight here going on, but the number one seed is in some trouble right now on the women's side. Definitely tune in the other match to watch. Of course we have to watch Osaka now. Osaka as I remind you, she withdrew from the tournament on Sunday due to a hamstring. If she is going to be exposed if she is injured at all, this is the woman that will do it

# 1 seed gone and Osaka is officially healthy

She tries to paint a line on every single shot, and she really needs to learn how to dial that back, especially against somebody like Brinkle, who just has this pedestrian serve. And she just doesn't need to go paint the corners against a player like that. And she paid dearly for it yesterday. So she's out of the tournament as well, and I thought she'd do a lot better. So kind of disappointing and shocking. The other one I wanted to watch was Osaka

Last day of Week 1. Matches to watch today!

If you take the first two sets off a Marin village, it's not uncommon to think that he's going to come back and win the last three. He's done it before you got to play all five sets. You got to put this guy away or else he'll win and this will be an outstanding match up. It will be fun to watch if you can just get past the fact that Marin chilly bounces the ball about 50 times before he actually serves

@RobbinMilne WHAT a match!

And you just had to win by two games in that set. We would have been in for a I mean, it would have gone to six in the morning. I mean, it would have just been non stop because neither one of these guys was really doing too much on breaking each other and really holding their serve well and break points were huge in that game. So, boy, you talk about a teeth bitter. That was one for sure on the women's side, Patrick Kabitova last night

Novak Djokovic defaulted out of US Open!! Was it the right call??

He should be held accountable for the action. But that punishment seems awfully, awfully harsh for what it was. And it was an accident. I just think it's way too harsh for what happened. But I'm just still at an unbelievable disbelief. He's gone. He's out of the tournament. This tournament is now wide open

The officials were just following the rules it seems. Really tough :(

Hey, fail. Yeah, this was completely unexpected, but I believe the officials were just following the rules. I don't think this was being harsh to him or in any way. And I mean, if they did not do that, then they would have been showing impartiality to the top seat. I think anybody I don't know the exact details of the rule, but I was listening to some commentary on the Tennis Channel, and basically they just followed the rules

No one remaining on the men's side has won a major

So trying to get past that, looking at the tournament from here on out, the one thing that's guaranteed is that whoever wins this tournament on the men's side, it will be their first major win. Nobody remaining in this field has ever won a major before. So I think we'll see some really outstanding tennis. I think you're going to see some guys really get after it because the big three are not in this tournament anymore, and it's completely up for grabs

Busta was about to break him and go up one set to nothing. He's the reason that Jokovich was slamming balls all over the place. Buster was actually playing very well, and that confidence may just propel him into this next match here. And Chapelov has been very inconsistent over his career. He's another one kind of in that Zara category where he's done well in three set tournaments. Five set tournaments tends to just kind of tail off a little bit

Mothers Day at the US Open!

Azarenca, as you probably know, was the number one player back in 2012, took time off to become a mom, didn't pick up a racket for five months, hadn't won a match in over a year and came through and won the Cincinnati Masters last week. Now that was with Osaka default in the last or Osaka withdrawal in the last match. But still she's playing outstanding tennis. Great to see somebody come back like this and really play at a high level now

Women's Semi- Finals tonight! Do not miss!

What's amazing to me is that if I had to pick the four women that are playing the best tennis in this tournament, I would absolutely say these are the four. These are unquestionably and it's not even close. Azure has just been firing through everybody and she's been the mom 31 years old taking some time off and she just looks like she's having fun out there. And that's what's really special about when people kind of make a comeback and they're having fun

Womens Recap. What a night of matches!

So everything was played at a very high level last night, too. And I thought the Brady Osaka match was just such at a high level. And I really as I watched it, I thought the winner of this is going to go on to win the entire tournament because they're just striking the ball so hard, so accurately and just at a level that I haven't seen all year as a Renka, she just keeps on winning and finds a way to win and dig deep every single match

And then once she found her game, I mean, there was just a huge momentum swing to the other side and all the breaks that Azarenka was getting like the one that hit the net twice and bounced over to the other side. Those were coming back the other way later in the set or later in the match. But Osaka just showed why she's one of the top players in the world, and her footwork has really come along

Mens Final Preview! Thiem vs Zverev

Dominic team is a heavy favorite today and real heavy favorite. So I think the odds makers, who are usually pretty sharp, are really telling you something there so I can envision that. But just taking a step back and seeing how these guys got here, I take a look at Zverov and this guy is so athletic and he's had all the tools. He won the ATP Championship last year

I'm exhausted. I think both mentally and physically. I think I'm absolutely as exhausted as these two guys. Man team just let it all out there. I mean, he's got no legs left. He looked like Fred Sanders heard walking around there in that last set. But guts it out. I just can't believe what I watch. I don't have many words here to describe what I just saw. Just absolutely unbelievable. It's got to be the best US Open final

Truly incredible. Good beginning to the post Big 3 era!

I was fully echoed that it was such an amazing match. I was just glued, especially in the final set. And like Robin, I was also rooting for the warehouse, but it was still like, amazing. I mean, they both had a chance to serve for the match, and the title site was end. And then just watching them, he could not walk. He just could not walk. And yet the second penultimate point that she's short, steady hit, mind blowing
