Critical Race Theory and Midterms: Getting Ready

article image placeholderJohn Oliver commended for perfectly explaining the problem with critics of CRT
I just don't want to see a lot of disinformation being used to influence votes, but I'm thinking we're going to see a lot of that. So if you know anybody that wants to learn more about critical race theory, this is a great crash course to show them

Hey, Phil, I'm really glad to see that you posted this. I watched it. And, you know, sometimes I think John Oliver kind of glosses over things and, you know, understandable it's a 30 minutes show, I think. But he really dedicated a solid, solid amount of time to explaining this one. And I think he handled it really well. And you really said it. I mean, critical race theory. It's a very complex issue

What if we take out the race a part of it and we make it about wealth and we make it about sharing resources and the lack of opportunity and resource and economic innovation. Right. Are we thinking about cooperative community wealth building? Are we thinking about ways to infuse money in a creative way that will create generational wealth for black, Indigenous and even like Asians who have been taken advantage of in American history, that economic sense actually will benefit everyone

And so I think that to try to distinguish the problem from the source, if you're getting me the problem being the wealth distribution and everything like that from the source of the race, it's kind of disjointing the whole idea. So I think that it's important to make sure that we're talking about the right things and that we're not oversimplifying it or overcomplicating it because there is a medium that can be achieved
