Romantic History

article image placeholderUploaded by @PeculiarMissPie
Inspired by the story of why the Telegraph was invented. I wanted to create a swell where we could all share romantic history, facts, the Gucci side of things beautiful, of full things that just make our hearts flutter and the like that usually don't get told or get glossed over and forgotten or maybe everyone knows them but they're still really cool and you want to share it. So reply with those and I will reply with the I story of the Telegraph that I just learned

Invention of the Telegraph

And he's convinced that his pain is so much worse because he still had the illusion that she was alive after she had died. So time passes and he invents the Telegraph. He also gets extremely into photography, which I think is also romantic, because it's a way of freezing time. You can hold somebody longer than maybe you normally could with a photograph. But anyways, he invents the Telegraph so that you can instantly communicate across great distances

Tv show rec based on this thread of historical romantic torment!

So with the story that you just shared about the Telegraph, if you have not watched Warehouse 13, I think you'll absolutely love it. It goes through so many different historical figures and art and inventions and all of these things, and I just love it. It's wonderful. If you haven't watched it, let me know if you'd side, too. And I just had to add that to this very specific swell thread that you just created about romantic torment your history

A family secret: F.U.A.R.O.

I don't think I've ever seen a couple look at each other the way that they did after decades of being together. And it didn't wane. And they just seemed to have that sparkle, that look. You know it when you see it anyway, somewhere along the way. And I don't know when, because from my memory, it was always a part of their relationship. But they developed the secret. They created an acronym that had special learning between the two of them

I could easily see how myself or other people in that situation would just be tormented and suffer and not produce out of that and what Cactus Cloud was saying about how so many innovations or just movements forward have come out of pain, but that's been people that have chosen out of that pain to come into action. I just think that's really cool. And I was reflecting on that. I also really appreciate the third story shared there with the married couple who are together for 60 years

And so when he had died, she would still go to that station to hear his voice. Until one time she went there, it was a different voice and she just got really sad and upset and she had asked what had happened, why did they change the voiceover? And they just said they had updated it. But after hearing her story, they said that we'll put it back and we'll keep it

Of course, I would appreciate that, you know, just like a community where everybody will get to be around and have a beautiful time, you know, with each other. That's pretty much nicer than Antarctica, and I love that. And that's good for swell. Not
