Did the MCU peak at Infinity War?

article image placeholderUploaded by @overlythematic
And as I think back on the MCU as a whole, I realize that no other movie after Infinity War has been as good as any of the ones previous to it, and definitely not as good as Infinity War itself. And I don't know if that's me not trusting the process or if there is no vision anymore who is spearheading the next big story and what is it that they are hoping to accomplish?

Hey, this was an excellent swell. I think that what you said towards the end there about not trusting the process, but also the lack of vision is pretty spot on. For the record. I guess I grew up a massive Marvel fan, always Marvel over DC. Thousands of comic books purchased and resold and collected and midnight screenings and 08:00 P.m. Screenings of movies and being the first in line for things. And it was a really large part of my life

I don’t think that that’s the correct question. I believe that the reason MCU is not doing well is because of WOKE garbage. Ignoring half their fan

So if Disney wants to insist on pumping out hot woke garbage, well, I won't go and see another MCU movie. I've not gone to see Ant Man, and I'm not going to go see it. And the last one I tried to go see, Doctor Strange, I didn't like it. The first Doctor Strange was way better than the second one. The last MCU movie that I can say I really enjoyed and there was no wokens was the Spiderman movie

But Pepper, Potts, you had Happy Hogan, Aunt May, all of these characters, all of these side characters that well, I'll put that in quotes, air quotes, side characters, but they were also instrumental in the development of our heroes and their heroes themselves. So when phase four started and into phase five, now, we haven't really gotten who these new characters are

And you could talk about the dialogue, even what these characters are saying, how they're interacting with the world, and is it because that's who they are, therefore that's how they act? Or they are given a set of parameters. And whether or not it fits within that character or within the story, within the plot, they're just going to spout. Whatever it is, that list of characteristics, that list of character traits and descriptions has defined for them

Yes, you are correct. You said it a lot better than I did, a lot more eloquent than I did. But absolutely 100%, you are correct. That is exactly what I feel

Hey, I liked your take, and I definitely liked some of the things that were prompted in this discussion regarding Marvel. But one of the things I wanted to get some more of your opinion on and see if you could elaborate on is what your thought is on the Saturation currently going on in the MCU. I, unlike many others, actually enjoying the current MCU, but I very much understand where you and a lot of people are coming from because I have a lot of the same complaints

We don't need to be told that six months into the future, a year into the future, we've got five more Disney Plus shows coming because it takes away from, again, that integration of the universe. What is the experience that we're supposed to feel, knowing that the stories that are being presented to us right now are not only incomplete, but they're also unknown to whoever is planning out this story and this universe. Who are the characters and why are they being chosen?
