Before bedtime - here’s a bit of "Aida" by Verdi

So this is one of the great mistakes in opera. I mean, any man who tells a woman who fancies him that he's madly in love with somebody else is asking for trouble, and that's what happens. This Roman guy is singing about his love for a woman, and he doesn't know who she is. He loves a slave and he gets into all sorts of trouble. It's another opera by Verdi who mentioned before, also wrote Regaletto

Sung by Irish tenor #JohnMcCormack #Verdi #Aida

It's 11:00 here on the West Coast of Los Angeles, and I love it. It has such an old wobbly feel to this particular recording. It sounds like it was recorded in the early 1900, so it's quite mysterious. And it's a beautiful, haunting story as well. I loved. Thank you
