Should killer children be tried as adult?

article image placeholderUploaded by @OmegaStrange
It is said that the brain doesn't develop fully until the age of 25. So if you're 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21 and so on before you're 25, if you are not able to make rational decisions, if logic is not working correctly, should a 15 be blamed for committing a horrible crime? Should they be doing 20 years, 40 years? Should they be getting help?

Should killer children be child as adults? Yes, I believe that they can or that they should. Because at age 15, 1617 all the way to 25, they are old enough and mature enough to know whether something is right or wrong. Now, their brains might not be fully developed as to other things like taking responsibility of being an actual adult or being in charge of a family, taking care of a family

Hey, thanks for replying to the swell. And I agree with you. I feel that not just 15 year olds, but that, for example, that that boy in that picture for this post, I want to say he's about 1213 years old and he should know better. He's spending the rest of his life in prison. He's been locked up for nearly 30 years and he's still trying to get out. But a ten year old boy should know that taking a life is wrong

If it was my child, wow. That's a whole another spin on it, if you want to bring that to the table to have some other questions. But at the end of the day, I believe that person, that human being, that energy would if it was with ill intent and it was premeditated, I believe they should be treated as an adult in terms of being tried

And he was only tried as a juvenile as per the laws in India. And so he was set free in three years while the other three were sentenced to death and executed. If you actually followed that case at that time, ana heard about what horrors the 17 year old committed on this very young girl and her boyfriend. The country actually protested against leniency and asking for the juvenile to be actually tried as an adult

🤷🏾‍♂️

It was legal and it was something a lot of people did. Politicians of the day, kings, queens, et cetera. Well, I don't know about queens, but maybe so. But within the last century or so, we've come to have a sort of renaissance and dilemma with responsibility for one's actions in terms of the insanity defense and those of mental illness. How guilty are they of their crimes if they do not know the difference between right or wrong?

But I think once you kind of get into the Eric Smith case in which he was 13 and killed that four year old Derek Robbie from the picture that you posted at 13 years old, you know what you're doing, like, luring a child into the woods type of thing to what you're going to do to them

I think it needs to change. So before I go into any kind of absolute response about case by case and we need to look at the situation and I think the justice system in this country doesn't work. I have very intimate connection to it, which I won't go into. But it's not fair. When you are up to trial, what's going to happen? There's money involved, there's the concept of being tried by your peers

Such a unique swell and such a complex answer. I don't know that there is a concrete answer to this. I like what Isabella said where she said that there is premeditation involved at any young adult age, especially depending on the crime, it will determine what the individual intended or planned out or played out or what have you. I think that I agree with a lot of the sides in this conversation where, like, yeah, the Cristina system, the justice system, is very flawed

The minor who was set free within three years should have been executed too along with them. That's how I feel. When you go to those links, you should know better. Regardless, the fact that he's out tells me he's probably going to do he may do worse. Man. He may be a problem. He may be a problem. The fact that he is free, that he only did three years he may be a problem. Very sad story. Very sad. Yeah

I got the voice down and everything. But yeah, I think the way how we determine what's right and wrong is the majority working as a collective within our society, right? So the majority of society, we share these ideas about what's right and wrong. Not all of us will agree, but the majority of us will agree. I get it. Yet what's right and wrong does change with the times. But I think as long as how can I say this?

@isabellaa

I think if you're mentally challenged, then you may get a pass, but if you know what's right and what's wrong, then I don't really think you should get a pass if you know what you're doing is wrong. Should we really be giving them a pass? Should we keep them locked up so we can keep society safer? But, yeah. Thanks for replying to this post with a great discussion. Peace out

If we find that there is no way they can go back into society they're just too sociopathic or psychopathic and violent to return back to society. I do agree that we need to relax when it comes to these corporation prisons. I see why they exist right? Less money out of our pockets to lock up more people right? Which I want to say they still come out of our pockets don't they? No more taxes go to these prison corporations or some of it through funding
