Copycat Culture

article image placeholderUploaded by @OmegaStrange
It's copycatting. The best strategy to get your content out there, to get noticed. You just need some help. You just need an idea. But what if you put your own spin on it? Well, didn't you just modify something that you copy into your own version or into your own version? Right? You took the old version and then modified it into your own version

So when I hear that there is a subset of content creators who have a concern about their content or their skill being air, quotation, copywritten or taken, then what I hear is it sounds like a person who's really not as confident in their competency. And so because they're not as confident in their skills, their competency, and their ability to do the thing that they believe, someone else is going to take it's because they realize they are not as skilled and competent or knowledgeable

So yeah, I think if I had to worry about people taking my ideas all the time, I wouldn't create, I would just stop. And for a time I did. But once I kind of realized, you know what, it's just about getting these thoughts out there. Whatever else happens happens. But it was more important that I communicated that to the world. That's what matters most. But the copycat culture is humanity's culture

They are not the same. When you can copy something and make it into your own masterpiece, that is creativity. For example, the Romans, they get credit for being so, so much ahead of their time. They were so ahead of their time with architecture and philosophy and art. But you can argue that they copied the Greeks. But yeah, thanks for replying. Peace out

But yeah, man, interesting topic. It definitely hits home. As you know, I can get in a bit of a TIFF at times when people copy my ideas, but I've come to learn that it's a compliment. It's the biggest compliment someone can give you when they are trying to emulate what you are doing. Because for the first time, perhaps you are affecting culture in a way where it's not just a good idea because you think it's so

So once I started to see what he can do, what he was able to do with sampling, and when I started doing my homework about how hip hop beat making was created, I started to appreciate, oh, okay, this is they're not just copycatting. This is this is something beyond stealing or copycatting. This is taking something that was great, and some of it can be horrible, but you can make it into your own. It becomes your own creation
