Career Readiness Seminar: Would you take it?

article image placeholderUploaded by @OKRL
It's a hit or miss sometimes, but I think for people who need it, it could be really good. And the same thing goes for kind of the academic advising. I wish that was more accessible to non student athletes because I know my freshman year I wasn't an athlete, and it was impossible to find any sort of resources like that. It was also maybe because everything was online, but I know friends of mine who aren't athletes who also struggle with that

Hey, Oscar, this class actually sounds really interesting. I personally would take it just because there's so many different things that I really want to work on, like a resume and a cover letter, LinkedIn page. I feel like doing it myself. It's kind of halfassed because I just don't really know what it's supposed to look like. So having a class to just get that all together would be really nice. And then it's not like everything is just overwhelming you all at once

Interestingly. I had a similar class issue to that in high school. So in one of my English classes, our teacher, who was new to the school, decided to spend, like, a whole unit on this. We're like running cover letters, doing practice interviews and writing practice resumes. And I think it was really helpful because later on in life, actually, since I entered College, I've been applying for jobs. And that also involves cover letter and resume checking

I also forgot to add what are some key takeaways from the class that you got? If you don't mind sharing, I'd be interested to know what we like the highlights

Hey, Nicki. Yeah. Thanks for your response. As far as takeaways from the class, a lot of what I found valuable sort of lied in the specifics and the kind of mechanics of what I was taught like, because in general, I know what a resume looks like and what it's for and a cover letter, et cetera
