Hi, everybody. I hope you're all having a good Tuesday today. I want to talk about social media, specifically social media, and how it has an impact on body image and body image issues

So let's hear it for minimizing our exposure to the negativity of the Internet and protecting ourselves from the lies of the Internet and being with each other in the real world and on swell where we're not putting forward these false narratives. In fact, we're busting them with great conversations like the one you're having with us now. Yay

And I feel like social media has really taken away from that. But honestly, sorry. I'm saying, like, so many times, honestly, over the past couple of years, I feel like so many people have become even more dependent on it. And it's just like Snapchat can be like a main mode of conversation for a lot of people

Hey, Noah, I think everything you said is true and very interesting. Social media kind of sucks. And I think it did something really weird to our generation because people exposed just so many parts of their lives that no one else would normally see, especially with people who they're not close with, like people our age have a few thousand followers on Instagram, and they definitely don't know all those people individually
But it's also like you get this sense of fulfillment, like having a large following when you don't even know the people following you and giving you all these likes. And I think that it's such a weird concept. Well, just got very distracted, but it's I really like everything you said, Julian, and I'm happy that you're on the staff because I think you have a lot of good things to say
At first I was like, oh, this is really cool. I get to update friends and family, and especially when I had my daughter, it was wonderful to be able to use the Facebook platform and MySpace at the time platforms to share all of my daughter's milestones with friends and family and all that kind of stuff. But then it's like everything kind of shifted. I'm not sure if it's social media
