(Mis)Representations of Indigenous Peoples in the Media

article image placeholderUploaded by @Noalily
Hey, everyone. Good morning. Hope you're all having a great start to your week. I wanted to talk about this assignment that I'm doing for one of my my classes, so I'm taking introduction to media studies, and we have to write a research essay about a film adaptation. I decided to do one flu over the CUCAS Nest because I personally did the play in high school

This one was a bit all over the place, but I hope you enjoy! Check out "Reel Injun" if you have the chance.

And I kind of like how even if that's the case, even if that was the case for some groups and sometimes it's still going on today. And we have to be aware of that not just as a past lesson, but as something that we have to keep in mind for the future and just educate others

But when I thought about my past experience with history and everything, especially when I did history in fourth grade, which is when we did the mission project, like, growing up in California, that's a big thing. I've started now to learn about how the textbooks are just not giving out accurate information. And I was really frustrated with that and felt a little bit debilitated because I didn't know rewriting history is really difficult and textbooks are hard to make and to write and to get published

Hi. Noa, I just finished listening to your more recent swell on how ethnic studies has became a requirement and decided to look back to this one because it reminded me of it. And by the way, I hope it wasn't like I was calling you out or something that I sounded like condensating in any way, because that's Noa my intention. In my last reply, I just wanted to experience I had a similar experience, but in a short time frame or in the same school system
