So while 1 may present oneself as a complete extrovert online, but in reality they may be quite the opposite. So I've had even parents tell me that their kids experiment, especially teens experiment with different personalities online that are so unlike them to them, it's actually a way of discovering who they really are. Right? So I was wondering how such online presentation, self presentation, can impact the concept of oneself. It would be a good thing, I know, if it leads to self improvement

Hi Nirali. Thank you so much for this beautiful swell. In a world where all of us are really busy looking up to other people and dreaming of having a life that they have, we have actually forgotten that how beautiful we are as our own individuals. This swell talk really reminded me of the fact that how much I need to introspect on the perspective that how I view myself rather than and how the world views me

So as the basis for the effective social media enabled knowledge work. However, research on the self presentation and also identity in organizational social media is like only the just emerging and it has been founded on the broader understanding from the studies of the public social media. And my question to you is how do we like maintain a healthy balance between online selfpresentation and true identity and how we can maintain the balance between them?

@Ramya

So, very simply put, what you would want to try out in the real world, it can sometimes be easy to try it out in the cyber world, but it is exactly what you would be okay doing in the real world later. But if you're going to have two completely different identities, then it will certainly lead to chaos. The lines between online and real have anyway started blurring because of the amount of time we are investing

But at the same time we must be completely aware of the difference between the real and the virtual and this difference could be different for different people. The way it can impact us is also going to be different for each individual because there'll be multiple factors involved not just about your online experience but also factors from your real life. So all in all, a very simple answer could be think about the purpose, what you're looking for online. See there is an objective of all of these platforms

@Kavya13

Hi, Kavya. Thank you for this question. Balancing really is an art, and it requires continuous practice to get better and better at it. There are simple rules that we can define for ourselves, like defining a screen time, defining our usage. That how much time do we want to invest on these platforms? Defining our objective, that's very important because the objective is going to define who and how we want to present ourselves
