Commemorating the 57th anniversary of the historic March On Washington with Dr MLK Jr. Recommit to his dream.

Maybe that's something you need to think about. But however, you can just commemorate today because it was an iconic moment in the history of America. And, of course, one of the most iconic moments in the civil rights movement and the events of the past few months have shown us that we possibly need another civil rights movement because the way that the country is moving is not forward. It's backwards, and we have to stem that backward slide

I wish there were more people of goodwill in this world, but I wish it wasn't just all about lip service and businesses wanting to not be seen as insensitive and just making good business decisions, hashtag and black lives matter and this type of stuff, but not making anywhere real actions, not taking any real actions, I should say. But I do appreciate the swell and the sentiment

🙏🏼

I wanted to also thank you for posting this. It's one of the most important speeches of all time. And a few years ago, a little bit more than a few years ago, I had the privilege of chaperoning some 8th graders to DC for their class trip. And we got to visit the Lincoln Memorial and stand on the steps in front of the reflecting pool where Martin Other King gave this wonderful speech. And I'm not going to lie. I got a little bit emotional

And I feel like that's happened time and time again. And I feel like we're almost at square one over again. And that's got to be completely frustrating. Secondly, both you and Emtois said it, and I'm reminded of a coach that used to say, I hear what you're saying, but I will trust what you do, meaning your actions. You can say anything you want, but I'm going to trust your actions. Actions speak larger than words

And that shows in the way that you live your life in who you reach out to in your sensitivities, in your awareness. Yes, it's work. Yes, it's exhausting. Try living with it every day of your life, but I want to share those two other commemorations. Emmett Till, Barack Obama, Martin Luther King in terms of progress, where are we going? We're at a crossroads. So your voices matter. I hope that you will join me in commemorating these occasions

A slinky forward... #action #connection #kindness

And sometimes I see life as a slinky, and that always gives me hope. So I don't see life as an Infinity symbol or this circle that goes round and round. I see the circle and the cyclical aspects, but I see the extrusion going outwards towards the forward motion, and that gives me hope. So that's where I sit right now and I'm looking at our slinky and it can be dizzying. But I see that we're going to have forward motion because it's necessary
