Found Footage Horror : Review of Followers release 2018 . Is it just a passing phase in horror or is it the new trend in horror?

article image placeholderPoster art
It's human nature, but sometimes it can get dangerous. And that's what Followers is all about. It's a unique, well written script and very subversive. And it's one of my favorite found footage horror films. So my question is, what do you all think about found footage? Horror? Do you like it? Do you not like it? And if you like it, what are some talking found footage films? What is you enjoyed?

Talking Found Footage Films. What is your opinion on this popular genre in horror? What are some of your favorite found footage films?

The Blair Witch Project

I still remember the very first time when I was reading Bram Stoker's Dracula, the actual book of the movie. I was reading that as a kid. And that was the first time I felt I did not want to be alone in the room while reading that book. And that kind of feeling you really get movies. The books are very kind of explicit in terms of the horror part of it, but the ones that do it well are the ones where they just built up the anticipation

Horror review of really haven't connected with the majority of them, except for The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity, which was like, the most popular thing in the world when I was in middle school. But anyways, when I'm thinking about those films, one of the things that really stands out to me about Cloverfield in particular is that Matt Reeves was the director, and since he directed that film, I've really enjoyed every single thing he's made

And the promotion on that film was outstanding. And the way that they did it in a documentary style, and it was so believable and really cutting edge movie that left an impact. And Bram Stoker's Dracula scared you. That brings me to my film that scared me as a kid. And it was a pretty straightforward slasher film. And that's the original Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984. When I saw that film as a kid, I was nine years old

Well, thank you for the input. Taylor found Footage is not one of my favorites as well, but what inspired this post is finding followers in Dollar Tree. And once in a while, a while, you come talking, talking, found footage films. What is knocks you off your feet. And I really dug followers. It was under the radar. Film came out in 2018 and I came across it on Netflix and I just loved it. I loved the style of it

But, yeah, I just wanted to say thanks and then drop a line and hope everyone's having a great night and enjoying those found footage. Horror films, man, Blair Witch Project was amazing. Paranormal Activity, another one that really kind of changed the game. Jason Blumhouse, it's really blowing up and doing this thing, man. So we've got from the same team of followers, we got another movie coming out. We kind of went a different direction

@seangloria question for you!

So I was listening to this post, and I heard that Sean was actually in the film, and I was like, That's pretty d*** cool. So I was wondering if I could actually ask you a question. I haven't Sean the film yet, but now am feeling like overly inspired to watch it, and we'll probably end up watching it later tonight if I can get my hands on it somehow. But what is it like filming a found footage film?

@seangloria

What's up, Sean? Thanks for reaching out to my post here. That's really cool that you got to act in that film. I came across followers on Netflix, and I just really enjoyed and ended up writing a review on Letterbox. You could go check that out if you look up my name and you could read the review on it. And then I found it at the dollar tree. And I'm like, That's a bargain, man. One dollars

But it can also lead to a setback, which I'll get to here in a second. But do you have a little bit more Liberty with the storytelling with the way these things cut together, too? And again, it's going to depend on a number of things, how it shot, so on and so forth. Our movie is a little bit different because it was improvised, so every single take would be a little bit different than the last

But then also show that maybe these people aren't everything that they present themselves to be online because that's kind of just like that's who they want people to think they are. But that's not really who they are. So we wanted to make sure that we had that in there and then ultimately pay the price for being that kind of person

But I'm going through a kind of person who I would say quote, Unquote is a fan, but they keep contacting me for interviews, and they're not giving me what they want to interview me on, and they keep posting and sending comments and kind of borderline stalking me. And it's a little weird. Little background about me is I went to school for film and mediate studies, and I do it because I love film. I don't do it for any kind of notoriety or fame

A great listen

Hey, I just want to say how much I enjoyed this conversation and was so serendipitous to hear Sean's voice and just all the back and forth. And it's just really what I love about film is that it lives on people's minds, not just in terms of the viewers and how viewers live inside the film. But when, you know, an actor was transformed and had a great experience, it's just a really rewarding kind of button on the idea

I said the director, Justin reached out to me his name's actually Ryan. So I want to correct myself. Ryan directed followers. He reached out to me and thanked me for the review. And I'm very appreciative of that. And good conversation
