What sparked your interest in film ? And what do you love about movies?

And then all through high school, I read books on film and watched a lot of movies. And then it transcended over into after high school and continued to read books on it and took some film courses at a local College. And then I went on to get a degree in media studies and film from Ball State University years later, which I'm very proud of. And then I went on to Tribeca Film Institute and studied film and media studies there

Talking to all film buffs. What got your interest in cinema and what have you accomplished in film that you feel proud and happy about?

Yay cinema 📽

And that led me it's hard to imagine now, but a theater where the movies would change every day and it would show Repertory classics, French New Wave films and Hong Kong martial arts and Hitchcock and old stuff that you could only see on the late Late Show, The Midnight Movies. But this is more fun to go downtown and check out these films that became a big part of my identity in high school in terms of what I'm most proud about. I guess

Hey, Tim, I'm so glad for your reply and some really awesome stuff that you shared here, especially about your father showing the films off of 16 millimeter projection on the Wall, which I think is so cool. Man, that must have been so awesome. And he showed you some really cool classics. And it seems to me listening to your post that your dad got you really into film. Your dad sounded like a really well rounded cultured person, which is cool and was into film

But there's something else that I also love, and it's the timelessness of it. You know, film in so many ways is one of the ways in which people become immortal. If you're great, even if you're not, you're still there. But if you're great, right? Like, we know Humphrey Bogart, but we weren't here when he was around, right? But we still know his name. We know his films, right?

So it just connects deeply. And he's a perfect example. And I love the fact that you shared your love of film and passed it down to your children and showed them these epic films like Jurassic Park and also show them how much work goes into making an epic, extraordinary film like that. So I think film is magical, and I think it's universal, and everybody loves to watch movies. And I think it's a fairly new art form, but it really isn't

They don't take the time to really see a film for what it truly is to be able to capture sure, the artistry of it. It's no different than when you go to a Museum and you look at a painting for, like, a split second and you walk away. I feel like with films, they deserve more of our attention

Hello, film Starlette. You make some really good points, and it's not a source of entertainment anymore. And what I mean by that is it's when I was growing up, film was an adventure. It was an outing. We would get in the car, my family and we would go see a movie and it was exciting. We'd get the popcorn and we would get taken away to another place. Our imagination would go and we would follow the story

I love how film encapsulate all art.

I knew I liked film, and I knew I loved affecting things, but that's any type of art. Honestly, I didn't realize how pivotal a role it played in my life, so I appreciate this question

And it seems like my post had made you enlightened on that. And I think that's fantastic. And I think that's what film can do is just bring happiness to people. And I find that most people get their love of film from their family. I find that very common, which I think is fantastic, too, because I think movies can bring families together. And I always talked about movies with my family after I watched them. So it's a communal thing as well
