Film review of "The Dinner Party" release 2020

article image placeholderMovie poster art
It's another Dinner Party gone wrong in the long line of these type of films, that's very trendy now. Except here, the characters are extremely obnoxious that you don't really care if they die or not. The plot basically, a playwright and his quiet wife get invited to a secretive high society dinner party filled with pretentious and dull elitists in hopes of the husband funding his next Broadway play. And the hosts have sinister plans of their own

But the last act of the film really hit a pretty sweet spot for me, and I ended up recommending it to a few friends. Now, the film that you described sounds like something that I should maybe throw on in the background or if I am sort of paying half attention to it. I haven't seen a lot of praise for it, but it does sound like a potentially fun ride. And to be honest, these sort of films, I don't expect to be too great

It can't hurt. It's entertaining. It's just you're going to watch it and be like, okay, this is basically ready or not. No lie. It's just very identical plot with a few differences. Not many. But, I mean, it's a fun ride. Yeah. There's a trend of these type of dinner party films
