Good morning, everybody. Today's topic is carbon tax. So what is carbon tax? Carbon tax is a fee that a government imposes on any company that burns fossil fuels. Like most widely discussed, fossil fuels are coal, oil, gasoline and natural gases. So when these carbon rich fuels are burned, they produce greenhouse gases, which can create global warming and also can harm our ecosystem. So the purpose of carbon tax is to reflect is to reflect the true cost of burning carbon

And in addition to it modifying behavior which has harmful effects, that is companies using machinery or companies using processes that emit gases that are harmful to the environment, it recurs to modifying the behavior as it has harmful effects. The carbon tax also raises revenue, like you mentioned, that can promote low or no carbon energy alternatives
