Freedom of speech

I have a question that I would like some input on. What is freedom of speech when you think or hear the term freedom of speech? What is your expectations? What do you mean by freedom of speech? What's your definition of freedom of speech? I'm kind of curious to see what everybody says. See

Freedom is freedom

This is what I think. This is how I feel. And if you don't like it, don't listen. But you should be allowed to say what you need to say and say what you think. And I guess my definition of freedom of speech would be to say whatever the h*** I need to want to or feel like saying when I say it. I guess that's my version. Hope you find more that you buy

Emto. I think you answered this question best in one of your earlier swells in a different conversation where you made the point that freedom of speech is really freedom of responsible speech because all speech has consequences and you have to understand and be willing to bear those consequences when you say something to me

I feel like freedom of speech is important, but you have to be mindful of what you say because certain things can bring negative consequences, such as certain statements and offensive statements. And you should just really be careful with your words. But I do think that freedom of speech is important. I believe that everybody's voice deserves to be heard

You can say whatever you want, but you don't then get to turn around and demand people not think poorly of you. And this is the problem. I think we run into all the things time with freedom of speech. There's also responsibility with that freedom

And she was wallowing in the paint, and she looked absolutely ridiculous. And while the white men stood by trying to pull her, they slipped in the paint and fell down. And she made an absolute spectacle of herself as a black woman representing the black community. I think she probably was hired by somebody relating to the Trump Association, but that's what freedom of speech means. It means that you can act like a complete idiot

Freedom of Speech - freedom of Swell!

And I'm using your particular thread, this one to really show the growth of an idea. And the seed of the idea is so important. And then the branches and leaves it grows is even more interesting. But to have our voices not just out there in the wind, on a platform where we're standing on a pulpit, but sort of submitting to the power of what we can create in community around an idea. And it really stimulates me

I agree

Thanks for that. Deborah. You know what made me initially posed that question is because it just appears to me that most people confuse freedom of speech with freedom of consequence. And I think that's what people most people that say freedom of speech. I think what they really want to say is freedom of consequence, because we always have the freedom to say what we want whenever we want, wherever we want. We just have to be willing to accept whatever consequence comes behind it

Freedom of speech and French revolution. / Natural regulation -> truth?

If you're a representative of a country, you can't be judged, you can't be put on trial. And that's a very common, quite strange thing to me. Politicians should be treated like any citizen and be accountable for their words and their deeds. That's what I think. And Incidentally, this Enlightenment period in France in the 18th century, that's a long time ago. It's apparently not related to this topic of politics nowadays and the campaign for presidency in the United States
