Your thoughts on college

If not, how would you have changed things? Would you have gone elsewhere? Would you have not gone to College or just in general? Tell me your thoughts. There are no right or wrong answers. So please do share and thank you

But there is some serious money that can be made in a trade, such as being a plumber or an electrician or a Mason or those jobs as well. So College is what it is. I have multiple degrees, I have an undergraduate degree, a bachelor's, and I have two Masters and considering a doctorate. However, I also know that College is not the be all end all

I'd have gone somewhere smaller

She knows why she wants to go. Now let's choose an institution where she can learn, but also has that fit. But to Alan Marquis point, I talked to a lot of other kids that will tell me point blank. The only thing I'm going to get out of College is a lot of debt. I already know that they're smart enough to actually realize that. And I agree with everything that he said. I agree it's not for everybody

Allen, thank you so much for that thoughtful response. I'm so pleased to know that you are an educator and a principal. I am a parent of two kids, and so I come at it from that perspective perspective. But I have worked with a lot of educators here in Chicago, where I'm based. If you're interested, I would love to have a broader conversation with you about not just College, but education in general. I would love to hear your perspective as a principal

@Phil

Hi, Phil. Thank you so much for your response. I can relate to it on several levels. First, I also grew up in Indiana, and one of the things that I told my family is that I never wanted to go to IU because it was a party school, and I wanted to get away from a lot of folks who tormented me in high school, and most of them ended up going to IU. So it's kind of a funny coincidence

So I always kind of set the bar at UNH, but we'd love to continue the conversation as we go through this process. We visited a few smaller schools in the Midwest over spring break this year and over the summer, I think we'll go out to the East Coast and take a look at some schools other so we're going to be doing a lot of College trips this summer, looking forward to that sort of and really can't wait

Why I believe education is valuable

Hi, Mark. It's Shannon. I'm just replying to you regarding your question about College. So I have a high value on education and whether it's formal education or informal education, I just believe that whatever kind of education you can get is invaluable
