Ulta Employee Refuses to Push Credit Cards on Customers

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
I wasn't going to ask a housewife who is coming in there, trying to make purchases on a budget to open up a credit card and put her purchase on that credit card and then have to go home and explain to her husband why they now have another credit card. I wasn't going to do that. And so I never got reprimanded, I never got in trouble. But they would try to give us employees incentives for opening up credit cards

You probably get a dip every time a credit card is sold. You probably get some money. Yeah. It just wasn't a really good experience. And I don't feel good selling credit. That's not what I did

And then they would say they would stand and remain in front of me if I was at the cash register. And they would say, okay, I'm ready to pay off that balance. And I would say, oh, my apologies that I might not have explained that clearly. Yes, you can pay it off right away, but it's at your next cycle, so we still have to take your application. And the company, the credit card processing center has to process it

I think the world could use more of this humanity, you know, this sort of a human to human connection. The empathy that this employee displayed, looking beyond her goals and targets to understand the the standpoint of another human being and trying to act accordingly. This is what the world needs. So hats off to her
