Has the Internet Affected your Attention Span?

I'm a child of the late seventy s and I grew up in the was an adult when social media first really blew up and became popular. And so I remember a time where we did not have access to so many things so quickly. I remember when you actually had to go into a bank, stand in line, and wait to cash your check or make a deposit or ask about your account

But as far as the content, I think the greatest content, Swell, I think the greatest social media content always has kind of been the best of it is within those 1st 60 seconds if you can't get a person's attention and that length of time is just not worth the investment. So even on Swell, I'm very intentful and purposeful to engage the listener right away

We have to make an impact and get to the punchline in less than two minutes, because if not, people are going to check out, they're not going to listen, they're not going to engage. And so, yes, I believe that because of our attention spans and the smartphone, everything being at our fingertips nowadays, I believe that it's put more pressure on people to get to the point as quickly as possible. Thank you so much

Facebook, I really can't hit 20 minutes before my audience windows out. And so to answer your question, yes, that's one of the reasons why I'm so appreciative when someone does watch a video, when they do listen to a podcast, even a Microcast, because our attention spans, people are scrolling by. So when someone stops and listens and replies, I'm like, thank you. Because that's a really big deal in this world that we live in. But you know what?

And then you blew my mind a second time when yeah, we think about just smartphone technology, but even, like you said, the toilets, the electricity to have a car

So I think that along with Facebook now becoming a smartphone application, a tablet application, and wherever other devices you access, you can use Facebook on pretty much anything. I think along with that and the fact that you can do so much more with Facebook than you used to, you can advertise, you can promote your business, you can do so many different things on Facebook that you couldn't do before. I think it makes it all the more I think it makes it all the more tempting

And so, yes, they've changed our attention spans because they made it like quick, quick, flash, flash, flash, buy, consume, consume, consume. Don't you think you need what she has on? Don't you need to drive what he's driving? And so, yes, it's wrecked our attention spans, but I think that was intentional because zuckerberg is certainly a billionaire. Many people have certainly made a lot of money off of facebook
