Question of the Week, July 12th: If you could see one movie again for the first time, what would it be and why?
Hey, everybody, this is Taylor on the at movies open. Swellcast. I hope you are all safe and, well, it is time for another question of the week. This time I want to take a trip into the past. I think that all of us have that one movie that whenever we see it, that feeling comes over us of, oh, man
What really got to experience the payoff of having read a book and then going to see it in the theater to see how it compared. And I just remember being bewitched from the first note of John Williams masterful score. I think the music was a big part of it, but also seeing the characters play out a lot of them exactly as I imagined them in the books. And of course, as a kid, kids are into magic and seeing the effects on the screen

I'm going to take a different tack with this question and the movies I'm selecting. I'm not saying that I want to again for the first time, what because of nostalgia and because of an expression I had as a child, but rather that seeing it as a first time was a revelation. And I was an adult when I saw it. The movies is The Knight of the Hunter, directed by Charles Lawton. It's from 1955

But we didn't know what to expect because we only saw the previews in the movie theaters, and they were showing the previews for films like closing counter. But like other types of movies that were coming out at that time. And I remember my uncle saw it was a Gene Hackman movie. And he said he saw the trailer Star Wars. Before that, I was exposed to it via my uncle. It's one of those historical moments that I wish I could go back and relive
Hello Taylor. I loved listening to your response. I would say the one movie that never fails to make me smile is home alone and not any of the specific ones. I would just say each is as good as the other

I was old enough at the time to really understand what was going on. It was 15 when the movies was released, and I watched every single clip they would play on whatever Entertainment Tonight, anything on the news. My brother and I actually record everything on VHS, anything pertaining to we'd buy all the merchandise, although the Tops trading cards, the toy builds action figures, everything. And so when that came out, that's the first time I ever remember actually going to the theaters opening night
