#1 (the following full moon)

article image placeholderUploaded by @MoonPoet
Hi, friends. It's Stephen here. Happy Sunday. I'm going to drop a short moon poem and I hope everyone enjoys it. The following full moon no one saw it. The stepping stone to a farther night no longer mattered. She sits in a dark corner on a bookshelf of the forest. The refusing trees drop rumors in the sky. Lovers cultivate their own small patch of light for a retreat quiet, secret, solitary

She sits in a dark corner on a bookshelf of the forest. Wow, what a line. I absolutely love that and I love this piece. It is, simply put, short and absolutely amazingly sweet. I really appreciate it. Am somewhat obsessed with the moon. I call her my sister

Of Steven imagery in this is just exquisite. I love how your mind works and how it's just so full of wonderful observation. I'm really quite blown away by how your mind works. There's those lines and the bookshelves and the broomers and so full of kind of mystery and really sets the scene for something so short. It's really rich. You and janice do this thing really well. I'm quite jealous. That's beautiful

That was some magical spell casting. There was short but jampacked with lots of perspectives. As far as I was reading it. I love when a poem invites you to read it several times over and each time you you can feel or insight something new from it. I would love to hear your thoughts behind the first four lines and if you were planning to have double meetings there and what they were for you, if you feel so inclined to share. Thank you. I really love this

Hey, thank you for engaging with this one. That means a lot. And hopefully I'm not taking away from the mystery too much by explaining a little bit. There should still be some magic to it. But yeah, I'll tell you a little bit of my secrets. So the beginning of a poem to me is like the entrance to a house. It sets the mood, but you're not meant to stay there

Thanks so much. Yeah, I got that. Especially that first line, the following full moon. I read it a few times from different angles, and I thought it's following an event or it's following a person, or like you said, you're setting up a time frame. It was very unique. The whole thing made me think. And so thanks for answering my question. I really appreciate it

Hey, Stephen. You know how I feel about your poetry. I love the fact that this particular piece can be interpreted in so many different ways, depending on the perspective of the reader or the person listening. I'm so glad that you're here on this app

Similarity and Question

It's nice to see I'm not the only solenophile around here. I'm curious if the moon has some special, deep significance to you that you're reflecting in your statements

And time is just different in its presence. It brings out the dreamers, the romantics, the lunatics, the howling of wolves. And for me personally, it's a symbol that even if the adults in the room disagree, I'm not on the wrong path. Because I can't help it. Why should I be practical when there's something extra in the sky? There's this beautiful, sad thing we don't understand

Hi, Steven. I really liked your piece. And I like your subset and focus with the moon. I really enjoyed the final stanza where you wrote the refusing trees drop rumors in the sky lovers cultivate their own small patch of light for a retreat quiet, secret, solitary

And when they flow, when they work, when the imagery all comes together, it's just in one of those moments of magic, and you wonder how you did it when it says it everything. And so clearly. Thank you very much for sharing that one. It's a brilliant piece, really, and I'm glad you shared it here, where we could appreciate it, and that you reswelled it for me, because it's wonderful. Four. Bye
