Good teams win. Great teams cover.

I think, to use Bama against the spread if it's like ten points or something. I think Bama has the players to show that they're better and covered the spread. And on those Tuesday, Wednesday nights when you have nothing to do but watch some action, I would look at these two teams to Eastern and Central Michigan. Last year. They were four and two covering the spread, and I think these teams are only getting better

Coaching and perception/reality.

And I think I've mentioned this before, but back in the day when Eli Manning was at Mississippi, hey, he's Peyton's younger brother. He's putting up Heisman Trophy numbers, very high profile. They're pimping them out on TV commercials on upcoming games. But the reality was Mississippi just wasn't that great of a team, and they were not covering the spread

Your approach?

Phil, from our conversations, I can tell you're very analytical in your approach. And you try to take out the emotion from what I've heard. What are some things that you use? Or what do you have a certain base numbers or system that you use to see? Say, this is a bet I want to make or this is a bet I should pass on. I'm curious to know what you do and how you approach each game

However, in the first three quarters, Notre Dame struggled to get anything on the ground, and they were facing three man fronts with three undersized Louisville defensive linemen. And I just thought right there, and this team is just not very good against the run. If they can't run against this when they face a stout defense, they're really going to become one dimensional. And I don't like the way the quarterback throws the ball

Two times where analytics were thrown out the window

They did not want to be there whatsoever. They did not like 38 degrees. And I could just tell in warm ups and they've been in California way too long. This game is over. And it was the second occasion was Michigan State comes into Wisconsin. Kirk Cousins was the quarterback at the time, and I was watching Kirk Cousins warm up, and it was a windy day. And his passes just in warming up were just sailing

Josh Rosen waived..one of my favorite bet againsts of recent times

And I just looked up his record and UCLA's record against the spread when he played at UCLA. And in his final year, which was his junior year, they were four and eight against the spread. And I went through and I was looking at the games, and I just kind of smiled because I remember so many of these games because I bet against them. And the reason I did is I thought that UCLA was not a good team. But Josh Rosen got a lot of hype
